As a D1 Urgot main fuck everything about this.
They removed everything I loved about him.
His mini exhaust passive.
His e+q combo which was long range and shreded armor.
his ult on 16 with op range swapping is one of the best to catch enemies with.
I need to see the numbers and try him in game but really they just made a long range champion short range and gave him a tiny dash to compensate. Before you say ult is long range well u cant really trigger it well enough since the rest are short range.
Time to rush master while I can.

There's a difference. Warwick always dove on the enemy. Galio was always a magic tank. Yorick was always a bruiser. Even drastic reworks of their kits didn't change their core identities.
Changing Urgot from a tanky poke champion to a straight up bruiser is a massive departure from the original.

If I had to design a champion right now it would be a dragon caster with different elemental breaths which had different effect. Fire would do extra damage and leave a lingering burn, ice would stun, and lightning would lower resistances, and using another breath on the same target would remove any other breath status effects on them.
The ult would be some kind of mega-breath, possibly letting you stack breath effects on whoever you hit with it for a bit.
And she'd be in human form and have big tits.
Honestly I'd kinda be interested in this, although I doubt riot could really make it fit into the game.

Thing is, the LoL became YuGiOhed in a sense that gradually the entire game upped its stakes. You suddenly have champs with thousand passives, percentage of max health as true damage, insane mobility, flash defying ults (!!!), as well as some rather absurd shit. Imagine that in S1/2 someone told you that there's going to be a champ that gets a shield by walking, gets double crit as passive, and has ability that blocks ult at no cost. And he's not even that strong.
While S1/2 had some rather strong champions and items (much like early YuGiOh had uncharacteristically OP cards like Monster Reborn or Mirror Attack) like Zhonya's Ring and release Xin, Ez, LB, etc, there was nothing on this scale.
Urgot's kit is rather underwhelming. His Q is shittier version of Ez's Q, and costs shit ton of man. His W is a rather meek shield, and his E+Q combo is only thing remotely interesting. His ult is also pretty bad. Compare him to Darius, whose entire kit screams fuck you, or Fiora, or Graves, etc.
This new rework is a step in the right direction, it is strong, but yet has potential for clever counterplay. His new ult really suits him, him being you know, a fucking executioner. It was only a matter of time when instakills would be introduced in LoL.

With darius, there are a couple champions who match you in raw power like illaoi or riven for example, but there is one thing that you can use to your advantage in the midgame a lot, which is just catching off people and generally forcing fights.
Your E is an incredibly useful tool, it definitely rivals all the other hook/pull effects in the game, even with it's considerably shorter range.
Also, if you get outdamaged in a trade, dont't back off. It's sort of like a game of chicken with the enemy laner, but once you get five stacks, you can just wreck anyone. If riven or irelia initiates, don't get scared, just limit their movement with e or w, reposition yourself, hit a q or two, get five stacks and kill them.

What I've done is gotten rid of the spirit sword and solved every problem I have with Shen's kit while keeping the effects of his skills.
