I just dont understand why blizzard continues to print rng infested bullshit cards. I understand that the target audience is not the competitive one and that casual players enjoy high variance coinflip games but there is literally nothing stopping them from keeping both happy.

During the vanilla set there was very little RNG compared to today. Sure there was the unavoidable variance that cardgames naturally have due to luck of the draw but outside of a few cards like ragnaros, sylvannas, MC tech, etc you would more or less know exactly what 26/30 of your cards would accomplish before you played them. Despite this fun RNG decks like randuin still existed and bothered nobody because while the deck could cause worse players to beat better players its powercurve was under the best decks which did not rely on RNG.

This is where im confused. Blizzard has the opportunity to make both sides happy and they simply refuse to do so. I understand that casual players outnumber competitive ones at least 10:1 but that still doesnt explain why serious players are completely ignored.

Because this is what they want their game to be about. They have always been very transparent about the direction they want to take the game. Blizzard promotes gambling under the guise of "competitive play". RNG will always play an enormous role in this game, so we can either accept it and play Hearthstone, or pack up and move on to a better card game (like Magic).

That's a pretty shit excuse though. It's basically changing one directory path/variable to be in line with every Blizzard game for the past 25 years.

Also alt+pintscreen just saves the window (including border) to the clipboard, it doesn't save it as a file to a directory (a normal directory like every other game).

I really hate it when developers act like these things are massive undertakings that somehow drain huge amounts of resources.

Can you ask this then. At one point Team 5 posted 'Once the deck slots interface is released, people will probably understand why it took so long'.

In the end it was a scrollbar, were they serious about that or did they scrap the interface they were actually working on, or did they work on a scrollbar for two years?

Hey, programmer here, I work for a company and everything.

Step one: go to the spot where the file path string for the screenshot folder is determined. Make it check a value saved int he app settings (same place where it remembers resolution and everything)
Step 2 (this is the hard part): make a text field in the settings where you can type a filepath and a button "browse" which brings up the windows explorer to navigate to the path you want (which is the easy half of this, as it's mostly automated, you just have to call to bring up the explorer and store the returned string)

This would literally take an intern an afternoon, then an hour or 2 for a QA to check it, then it goes to the wider QA net to catch any weirdness and it could be in the game in a week. this is SUCH a trivial addition. If they asked ME to do it, I could, and I haven't touched Unity or C# in a year.

How to get into hearthstone. I know youve heard these questions a thousand times before. But the last game I really enjoyed was gothic 2. Ever since ive not really played many games.
