Everyone who fancies themselves a TRUE ALPHA AGGRESSIVE TANK wears 270 slaying with Vit Vs. As a healer I'm generally okay with that, but it allows no margin for error. In a dungeon you need strong DPS players for it to actually be efficient, 270 acc tank with two shitbird DPS is a nightmare to heal, especially if Big'Axe McFellcleave wants to pull every pack before the boss at once, like we're still in 3.4 wearing full 270.

The problem is that wearing all Vit can lead to aggro problems, especially if you don't sit in tank stance and spam your enmity shit for the duration of the fight. That's less of a concern with duty finder trash, but if you get some real players on your team they'll rip bosses off you repeatedly.

Keep a full set of both and mix and match them depending on what you're doing. Once they put out the crafted raid gear (green i330) in 4.1 or 4.2 that will supplant the 270 slaying as you'll be able to meld a Str VI into it and then pentameld with DH

I wouldn't bother melding tenacity right now, once we get deeper into the expansion and our stat pools get bigger it might be better. You want to meld mostly direct hit on your left side iirc

I like to take Safeguard and Enliven, they both massively increase your survivability. Don't be afraid to Manafication as soon as you hit 40-60 on each mana just so you're able to immediately jump on people when you see the opportunity. It's all about being able to get in and get back out. Your in-and-out have extremely low cooldowns so you can abuse them to poke people and with Enliven you'll be able to use them A LOT more often. Don't be afraid to jump on someone, cleave them with Flunge and jump out, it's a decent bit of burst damage that costs a hefty chunk of TP but it's great for killing lowhealth runners even if you're out of Mana for a melee combo.

When you actually go in for a combo, if it's going to be in a group of enemies hit Safeguard, it makes a huge difference in your survivability especially if you can get healer attention while you do it. You pair best with someone who has CC since you have none, but marking someone (with your buff and with an actual marker) and jumping in with a drk/war/pld/whatever, you can do fucking stupid amounts of damage with your melee combo in a short amount of time and make quick work of people who are CC'd.

Also it's important to note that other moves DO NOT break your melee combo in PVP, don't be afraid to do two hits, then Flunge or nuke someone only to jump back on them and finish with the last hit when it's safer. You also 'hold onto' combos for a decent bit of time. This is especially useful for runners with Flunge since it can be hard to stick to people Bolting for the melee combo, but doing 1-2 hits and then Flunge will let you finish them off.

Bolt is also a consideration instead of Safeguard, but Enliven just feels amazing and I always regret giving it up when I try swapping it.

MCH wasn't difficult in 3.0. Wildfire was difficult in 3.0. Good MCH never had problems with that either and so their gameplan slowly moved to how well they could never miss a GCD + OGCD and still sync up to do perfect wildfires everytime.

MCH is difficult in 4.0. On top of still needing to know how to never miss a GCD + OGCD, you're punished far fucking harder as well for even the smallest mistake. Clip a dot refresh on 3.0 MCH and it's not the end of the world. Accidentally overheat and your overall DPS will fucking tank in real time.

It's fun when you don't take it super seriously. It's just a silly little mini-game addon, I think it's pretty good for what it is.

Also, this is fucking retarded, but accommodating for the lag/awful netcode is actually a big part of the skill in PVP. It reminds me of the way fucking source/TF2 hitboxes worked. You have to know how to game the system. I get a TON of Killing Blows in PvP purely because I have the timing down on when you actually need to hit people to get it.

I never made one, but just know it's extremely easy to beat the scrip gear with i290 melded aside from tools of course, I like my current rotation for endgame i290 gear so I haven't bothered yet
maybe i'll glance at it for you anon and make something, but VI craft materia is hefty

also if you have ironworks crafting max melded, there isn't much reason to switch from them to zelkova at the moment unless you want to suffer overmelding, the cp at the least is similar
