I know this is bait but, generic support is generic for a reason, its meant to be played in a wide variety of decks, stuff like handtraps, or generic spells like raigeki, dark hole or the MST family (Twin twister, Cosmic Cylone, Galaxy Cyclone and whatever else) or generic traps like the solemn famly (even scolding is good if your deck isn't that backrow heavy) or the trap holes and there's also the generic r4nk toolbox or even synchros if your deck uses generic tuners and soon we'll have more of the generic elemental Link-2's like Missus Radiant or Mastar Boy for every attribute.

You can't really just stop people from using generic support because if you can play a good card in any deck, you're playing it if your deck wants to be good, do you want little tim's deck to not be good just because you don't want him to use generic good support?

It stagnates and Bushiroad is afraid of hitting stuff for good, especially if it's used on the show.

There was a 2~3 year format dominated by one deck. The deck died after some hits, but few months later the same clan (Royal Paladin) from that deck received a little support and this new deck dominated for 1 year and half. And Vanguard is a game where most of the decks are really dependent on their clan support to be good.

The game also went to a state that it doesn't let the other player activate their cards effects, just outright not following the flow of the game. (most of the cards need a Vanguard with Grade 3 to activate effects. If you have a deck that can fill the board fast and generate advantage, you can stay on Grade 2 and hit on your opponent, and finish the game when you need it)

The cardgame is affected heavily by the show, which means the main clan will always be stupid.

Finally, Bushiroad CEO refuses to follow best of 3 format. And the Vanguard banlist only happens when Bushiroad does a warning first (hey, we're looking on this card, stop using or it might get a hit. Players don't really stop using at all)

Perhaps I'm looking through things via rose tinted lenses, but I found 2010-Middle 2012 Yugioh to be some of the best years.

The local level had a lot of stuff. Xyz had Dino Rabbit, Windups, Inzektor

Synchro was still going strong with Six Samurai. Plant Synchro was pretty good too before the hits.

The early Zexal era had Agents with plays into Trishula or Venus and a Gachi Gachi.

Then you have HERO before the deck became Dark Law + set 5, with Absolute Zero and Shinning holding down Fusion decks, as well as Glads being a safe pick for every format.

It was one heck of a time to be a player. Lots of variety to be had.

How a Ritual monster can be Generic at all?
The last 3 exclusives from the 081 Spot are absolutely generic (regardless if good or bad). People can now summon Vermillion Mech as an easier Level 9, rather than going for Trishula (when they can), most duelist now have Instat Fusion thanks to Norden, and now they can choose to use it for Theseus, and an Xyz MST Rank 4 does not even need explanation.
So, how they can make a Ritual generic? This is the reason I want to see the ritual, more than the Sneak Peek card.
