I played DotA, LoL, and Smite before HoTS

League was in a lot of ways my least favorite of the three.

Runes basically forcing you to pigeonhole yourself into minimal roles for a long time.

The roles with laning and such are strict to the point that it felt heroes needed a certain level of similarity to eachother to fit in, pretty much eliminating fringe shit like the specialists in HoTS and people like broodmother in Dota

HoTS pretty much took what I liked about League (the speed of combat and focus on skillshots and mobility), got rid of a lot of chaff, then added maps and Dota's willingness to add specific gimmicky bullshit heroes that I enjoy playing

DotA 2 was my first attempt at assfaggots. Dropped in 5 hours during alpha because of the atrocious controls.
Friend got me into lol. Dropped in two months because of the atrocious gameplay. Whoever thought Laning was the most fun part of the game should b shot.
Playing hots two years with breaks. Pleased with it. Friend tried to make me play league again. Force myself to suffer through it, only to realize you can't even kite properly with those awful turnrates.
So basically, too much turnrates is a dealbreaker, and even a little is very noticable

used to be a really good game before they fucked it all up. they literally changed everything i liked about the game. the art style and the map changed drastically, old and fun champions like gangplank reworked to keep up with the massive powercreep problem, tribunal punishes any form of shit talking at all, too many champions leading to powercreep problems, riot forcing metas, forced esports meme game, good atmosphere and teams at the beginning of esports no longer there (old clg old tsm), constantly changing and removing items and shit.

I've played LoL for 6 years now and have been switching to HotS since a little after 2.0 started.

I always loved how dota2 had way more different playstyles and unique characters, but continued playing LoL because it was less complex, had more action - when you don't spend your time farming or dieing - and was always evolving with constant patch and champ releases.

But with their recent focus on reworking character archetypes I've noticed that they still don't want to take too much risks because of the pro scene, and it's becoming way too soporific to play 40 min of the same thing while usually getting stompy games or boring farmfest.

Really fond of the fact that HotS has real summoner characters and more impactful supports that aren't just one-shield/heal-spell champions with little to no other impact.

Because Warriors have decent damage, double support allows you to empower your damage and sustain through the opponents and it works because pro teams are coordinated enough that the damage dealer can literally carry you through the team fights as long as your CC is on point and peel your assassin.

Genji is the old Dota "Pudge Syndrome" incarnate. On your team he's fucking awful and has 2-second reaction times, and actually gets juked somehow. On the enemy team, he turns your whole team's asshole inside-out on his own.

Also I get so fucking pissed when I make a play against a diving Genji that would've killed any other hero in the fucking game but Blizzard decided that giving a wall-hopping dash on top of a full-screen wall-hopping dash was fair on anything with higher HP than Erik.
