Gods are indeed supposed to not be possible to manifest as Servants. That's why previously Medusa could be a Servant but her sister's couldn't. They were Gorgon goddesses and she was a mortal before being made into a Gorgon as a curse. That's why her divinity is low rank, it was thrust upon her by other divine beings.

I'm still a little iffy on how the other Gorgons managed to appear as Servants, although one logical explanation would be "The grails we're dealing with in GO are nothing like the Fuyuki Grail," and it was a limit of that system, not of the general rules of Servant incarnation.

THAT BEING SAID, Tamamo isn't a problem either way. She qualifies as a Servant under the same logic as Chiron in Apocrypha: She used to be a divine/nature spirit, but the time she lived as the Japanese Courtesan Tamamo no Mae was time she spent incarnated as an actual factual mortal human, just as Chiron was made a mortal "human" by the gods to punish him. Because they were actually human, their legend allowed that part of their existence to become Heroic Spirits with Divinity, rather than the Divine/Nature Spirits they were before

Well, its more of an oroboros kind of thing because the Grail provides the bulk of the prana to summon and maintain the Servants during the war. That's why the summoning ritual is so "simple," (because the Grail is doing most of the work), why the masters can maintain and replenish them when logically they shouldn't be able to, and why it's supposed to be 60 years between wars in Fuyuki, because it takes that long to save up enough prana to do it all.

We never get any specific reason as to why/how the Grail can get back more magical energy than it puts out from the Servants dying, but then again its FUCKIN' MAGIC, isn't it? I thought the reason was that the mages use the leyline to start the ritual using a combo of theor prana and the leyline's mana to summon the servants who then feed the Grail.

The GO Grails? who fucking knows. At the end of Septem my thought was demons are providing the grail with power and then giving the grail to someone who goes nuts with it. I haven't spoiled myself for FGO so it's new to me!
