the fact that you decided to answer my question in depth like this makes me want to reevaluate my opinion. I'm not saying i'm wrong, i spend 30+ hours playing it and i trust my own instincts but i'll look it over from another perspective.
my opinion of his romance is that lavellan is always on the backfoot, maybe i can look over it again with a less biased opinion but honestly, i don't know if i can change my mind.

Legacy has some content related to Hawke's family and it makes it more meaningful if you play it at a certain point. IMO it's actually better during act 3 or in the latter half of act 2, MOTA you can do whenever but it can get kind of hard in some parts so I save it for act 3 too.

I think they can't exaggerate too much, since those cities never appeared in the games before and Bioware would be forced to base them on their comic appearance. Magekiller's only reason to exist was pretty much to introduce Marius and Thessa, let us know they are probably going to be new companions/important cameos in DA4, and show how important Charter was inside the organization during its golden years (probably another important detail for the next game).
Knight Errant seems to follow a more precise plot and it finally moves things forward instead of showing the past, that's why it's way more interesting. I'm curious to see what the Inquisition was hoping to find in Sebastian's castle, for example, since the organization is focusing on Solas and the Qunari and it must be something related to them.

Back in December the head of Funko did a '12 days of reveals' for 2017 and DA was on the list, and I think back in March they reconfirmed that they were still coming. I would assume it's either a general license get and could be for existing characters (most probable), or it's for the new game and won't be announced until that game is. Keep in mind, we first learned about Jaal through a Funko Pop listing. They need character designs to work off of very early, which is also why the Liam Pop still has a visor when the finalized in game design does not. Also why there's no Cora, her hair wasn't decided on until very late it seems.

As I recall the popular theory regarding Solas was that he was a priest or follower of Fen'Harel and he was working under orders to make the breach to let Fen out of the Fade, or something like that. Felicia Day's LARP adventure actually proved useful for figuring out that Fen'Harel had something to do with Inquisition because his mask was in it and it had the power to tear open the Veil.
