blue tearstone and red tearstone both suck because most attacks or combos that kill you will do so from >50% health, it's rare to be alive but low on health in a situation where you can't heal, and if you are going hypermode, then blue tearstone has no point and you should be using morion blade.

Better to use lloyd's shield and sword rings.

strength should be 66. There's no 50 softcap anymore, it's 40 and 60 now, with 66 being the 2H hardcap.

Returns on vigor are really low after 39.

Knight class is best if you are using attunement for melee, because warrior has 4 extra luck levels.

Carthus flame arc scales off your stats, so at low investment resins are better.

You should have poise for the greataxe. 43 poise would be ideal (you could block all 2HR1s from anything lighter).

depends on the greatsword. Uninfused ones are best on 40/40, and then either heavy (66/16) or sharp (xx/80) are best depending on how high of a level investment you can go.

Since most UGS need poise to really work best, lower investment with 66/16 heavy strength is generally best. However if you can fit 43 poise on xx/80, that will do the most damage with weapons. It's just rare to be able to fit that on a SL120 build, unless you're 2Hing Astora GS, because most UGS have >20 strength requirements.

Has anyone run into this guy in Crucifixion Woods? Think his ingame name is T.A.8 or something like that. I've gotten him a lot lately, he's often ganking and always has Way of Blue on.

Every single time it looks like he's starting to lose, he disconnects. Literally every single time. I'd be down for trying it as soon as I get a character to NG+ Cathedral, but the tricky part would be getting people interested and there and I'm on PS4, so that's another bag of worms entirely

I still like Claymore. Not the best weapon art, but still the best GS moveset and hits the highest AR on a Sharp build.

Hollow Slayer would be best, but you can't infuse it.

Gael's is OK, but I feel like it's a little bit of a gimmick and requires a refined build to really pump out damage with.

Black Knight is something I want to use more as you can do some interesting tricks with perseverance.

Wolf Knight is the coolest looking one and has the most reach, but the R2s are pretty meh. I fought one guy who was disgusting with them one time though.

Other obvious rules and recommendations would be

I get your point here but I don't agree that this is a bad thing or that builds fundamentally need these points more. DS3 has fundamentally faster combat than DS1 and it shows in its stamina regen and lack of serious penalties for being anywhere between 30-70% equip load.
The lower health players have on average compared to 1 would also make your 'powerful mandatory end level' for hybrids ridiculous as optimal 80 Dex Sharp weapons would be able to have a full power DMB/CMW and have great HP and Endurance to go with it whereas now they can't. The ARs of DS1 weapons at 40 Dex were comparatively far lower for physical damage as a whole and the higher average health pool also compensate for DMB+40 Dex weapons. Your build doesn't fix that problem in 3 because it's practically impossible to get Vigor to 1500 unembered.

Your ideas would just make PvP even more of a oneshot fest in 3 than it already is as EVERYONE would have access to an optimal physical damage weapon and a maxed powered buff completely killing build diversity as anyone who doesn't do what your suggesting would get fucked in terms of DPS. It is GOOD things aren't how like they were in Dark Souls 1 as in 3 there is a greater amount of build variety now compared to 1 though still lacking compared to 2.

I agree with this being a flaw in DS3. Being able to ember whenever is just a way to reduce invasions for hosts that want to summon phantoms, but its an unnecessary step for an already invader-hostile game and encourages gank squads, since you can kill all the enemies in the area first before using the ember and summoning friends.

DS3 invasions would be perfect if:

>summoning additional phantoms was prevented once you were invaded
>invasion priority is based on whenever there is 1 more phantom than invaders, so 0v1 and 1v2, were always the priority invasion worlds, instead of 0v3, 0v2, and 1v3 as it is right now
>you had to rest at the bonfire to restore ember

leave everything else the same (incl. estus and HP disadvantage) and you're gold. DS3 invasions aren't bad, you don't have to make invaders stronger. You just need to restrict host's abilities to create (intentionally or not) gank squads, since hosts tend to panic summon as soon as they are invaded.

Get rid of hornet ring and some of that fashion. Go For FAP+3 and drop vit until you can hit 27 poise (next breakpoint for a greatsword is 37, and that only applies to halberds and costs too much to reach on a SL80 build). Drop your attunement. The hornet ring is good, but only if you're parry fishing or going for backstabs, which hollowslayer isn't the best choice for.

That should give you enough to reach 27/40 with some extra endurance.

He was in love with rosaria. He sought out people to bring her pale tongues to prove loyalty to rosaria, since she had no tongue.

He kills her and brings her soul to anor londo, either to lay her to rest (possibly because she was suffering too much from the grub infection) or to somehow rebirth her at gynevere's chamber. Given that rosaria's soul is transposed into bountiful sunlight, it's possibly implied that she's related to gynevere somehow, who knows.

Point is, he trusted you but warned you not to get too close. You got too good at your job as an invader and started meddling with rosaria, so he had to save her. You kept following him so he kills you.

It might also help that his character is based on an armored core character (Leonhardt, Noblesse Oblige) who in one game sacrifices himself after another powerful NPC betrays his corporation, and in the sequel his successor helps the main player but then betrays you after you get too strong and stop taking orders from his leaders. Both ideologies fit with DS3's Leonhard's adoration and loyalty to Rosaria and subsequent betrayal of the player when you start getting too strong / favored by her.

Greatsword of Judgement reaches higher overall AR on a Quality/INT build meaning 26/40/40 STR/DEX/INT is ideal for it making it one of the highest damaging weapons in the game with the self-buff on. It's one of the shorter greatswords however. MLGS reaches optimal damage scaling on 40 INT alone and is longer and has a great Weapon Art for trading. I'd say go GSoJ if you want a hybrid build of sorts and MLGS if you're not investing much in STR and DEX.

So MLGS is definitely the more varied, useful choice since you have more utility and higher sorcery damage. This is why most people use MLGS, because the melee damage is almost as good but your sorceries are at max power.

But GSoJ will be better if you just R1 spam while buffed using sorcery for support instead of main damage. But it requires so much investment to reach that higher peak damage that it's usually not worth it compared to MLGS.

the only reason DS1 poise existed the way it does is because it's a half-assed attempt at Armored Core's stability stat, and never intended for a melee game. It was just them trying to add more complexity to DeS by including a way to avoid stagger and they didn't know any better.

Barrels need to be hit with fire to explode. Roll at the last possible moment. Resistances matter a lot and armored enemies will generally be weak to blunt

Not really useful information since this is basically just common sense / wiki knowledge. Most newbies want to know things like WHY you want more than one weapon or WHY you'd use a bonfire ascetic or what the best equip load is for comfy rolls or how to optimize their character.

Knowing that not all branches or lockstones need to be used right away is good advice though.
