Finally got the chance to look over the newly released info on Kat/Marcus and I can honestly say that I'm so hyped for the special edition. Looks like Fatlus JP was hard at work designing the packaging and really giving us a premium Whale this time around. As for Fatlus USA its unknown whether we'll get something similar. I highly doubt because, with Kat getting no dub, we can assume that we're not getting the Whale and how Marcus didn't bring in the numbers for FatlusUSA. But, they might surprise us with it, so keep your fingers crossed.
The 25th anniversary Kat Whale edition comes with 6 set CD soundtrack presumably including remixed tracks from the previous FAT games, and probably some new ones for Kat. This is really good, and I'm sure that people will be hyped to hear a fresh new arrange of battle themes from the older games. It also comes with a Maniax Artbook, probably including Kat concepts, Switch FAT concepts, older unreleased concepts and maybe some historical info on the older games. All of this is packaged in what looks to be a black/gold accented box which looks pretty similar to the FAT1 GBA Box but bigger. Not to mention, for a 3ds game this blows Red 5's JP SE out of the water in terms of premium content. This is worth importing if you can, I would estimate it would be around $175 USD/ $210 CAD.

Ending 1: You find a way to utilize the Schwarzwelt in a way that it restores the planet environmentally and reverses the damage it caused earlier, but also fills the planet with (for the moment) pacified demons that may or may not cause problems in the future for humanity.

Finally got around to getting and playing Apocalypse.
Glad I looked up when the skill expansion apps unlock because I was hoarding App Points for the moment they unlocked. They really want to fuse a bit smarter with how they are limiting the max amount of skills per demon in the early game.
Combat is fun as hell but the friendship is magic stuff makes me cringe a bit during cutscenes. Hard to believe the game straight up has an MA rating here.

That's the thing. Atlus never intended to make the endings be even. All the presentation about "morally grey ethics" wasn't meant to apply to neutral. It was meant to apply to law vs chaos, with neutral being seen as better. It only vaguely applies to neutral. Neutral is meant to be seen as accommodating both.

The problem that comes in is the fact that this is not only stupid, because it deliberately makes law and chaos so extreme to try to encompass everything potentially moderate under neutral, ignoring that ideological difference would still exist there, but it collapses in on itself by not even being accurate. For as bad as they try to make law look, they're basing it on utilitarian thinking and the creation of utopias, and you do indeed succeed in creating a law utopia in the end, so it becomes almost like weird satire that they try to present going back to neutral status quo thinking as somehow "better." Doubly so because they blatantly try to manipulate you by making law (and chaos) characters act too inhuman to really closely empathize with, whereas neutral ones seem down to earth and compatible with humanity. Why in mainline haven't we seen someone like krishna as a law rep yet? If someone like him was a law rep you'd find hordes more people being down with it, without changing anything about what actually happens. Lets remake SMTI with ivas krishna acting the way he does when he appears for law.

They also try to make neutral boring. In a game about every religion being true, they deliberately to make it "humanist" make its religion not come into the plots at all. But its religion is actually pretty cool. A taoist and shinto inspired religion whose main gods are transhumans who want to protect humanity from demons. And who live in the heaven of the diamond realm. The neutral religion should have an actual name, and have had units who come into the plot. We don't play games about religions to not get to see religions.

The absolute freedom is on paper only. As it shows in game there's no protections against people subjugating you, so the strong instantly do so. Your "freedom" is the freedom to be killed if you don't want to be their slave.

And here's where the real crux comes in. Since the freedom is on paper only, all it really means is that you are told that you are free to fight back if you want. But why can't you do that in a neutral world? There's no actual reason that the world has to be chaos to allow it. And for the majority of people, doing whatever you want in a standard world is much more viable than doing what you want in a wierd monarchy build openly on the strong oppressive you. Since monarchies and wierd gang hierarchy shit seems to exist everywhere, there is no real point in which you have meaningful freedom, because you would always be in a place ruled by one of those. The game isn't even subtle about it having tyrranical elements either. So the "freedom" means literally nothing, since you'd still be in a paradigm that is very much enforcing compliance onto you. A demon npc in SJ even says directly that he longs for the days when humans were thiers to command to return.

The thing about law worlds is that they actually are depicted pretty ideal. Everything bad about law is done before the endings to set it up. The world itself is basically normal life except... people's capacity for evil is all but erased, making everyone have pro social attitudes that effectively eradicate things like poverty entirely because people are now no longer too selfish to make things like socialism work. Is it meant to be scary that people now consider evil things essentially unthinkable the way that people in normal worlds think sociopathy is? Because it actually sounds like an ideal life. You could go out at night without worrying about being mugged. You would feel lonely less often since pepole are attuned to realize you need attention, empathize with, and care for you. You would have better relationships to everyone you know, since spiteful attitudes wouldn't enter into it. And not have to worry about falling into poverty.

Its literally a utopian vision. The "Bad" part isn't really even bad. You are psychologically not oriented to evil. But so what? That doesn't mean you somehow think less. Those thoughts are replaced with more intuitive pro social ones, like tuning into the needs and flow of the community. In the end, law fails to have many real flaws, since atlus hoped that that would count as a real flaw, and then tries to make up for it by making the side act scary and alien in the process of setting up the world. Which since its a one time event doesn't really matter much. They swung and missed when trying to make the law world seem bad, so in reality its just an idyllic utopia.

I can't think of a perfect team to fight Maya, I can make a good Black Rider with Grand Tack and Debilitate but it's expensive then I can make a Sleipnir with Luster Candy and Dekaja but I won't have room for Oberon who has Diarahan or Titania who has Mediarehan. I don't get the people saying Nozomi was ab bitch in Apocalypse. I think she was one of the more reasonable characters despite not having any development at all. She was mostly flat, and was there as the mother/big sister archetype character, but she wasn't necessarily a bitch.
