A warrior is not going to invite a rogue. A rogue is not going to invite a hunter. An elemental shaman is not going to invite a resto shaman. A warlock is not going to invite a shadow priest. etc

I don't know why you couldn't get into dungeons as a healer on elysium. That's not really very representative of what I've seen in vanilla or tbc.

There is literally no class that is wanted more than others for 5 mans though. Every player will invite based on whichever class won't take loot from them.

Don't expect to top meters as arms or fury in T4 or T5. Melee on the whole is less desirable than ranged dps outside of the utility brought by x melee spec. Going alliance on gummy is a mistake.

There is not a faction queue, and gummy has stated he does not want to introduce one unless the faction balance gets extremely lopsided. Instead, he's implementing character creation restrictions bases on population.

What this means is anybody decent is going to roll horde immediately while casuals get forced to alliance. Leveling zones will be horde dominated. Every endgame farming spot will be horde dominated.

Unless BG queues alone are a bug enough reason for you, don't think it's different this time and make a mistake you won't realize for dozens of hours

Honestly most of the vg guilds aren't too different from most top guilds in terms of behaviour. They tend to attract the same sort of meme spouters and attention whores, albeit better players and less of them. I am not a fan nor very good at writing long walls of text so I will try to keep this short. I believe you know the intention I had when I suggested the creation of this guild; a drama-free environment in which to play videogames, at a higher level than a casual guild, while offering a vaguely 4chan-y environment. Memes, shitposting, calling each other faggots in good fun.
The first step in that was testing the waters and seeing the reactions. Most of you have seen the reactions, and they were full of actual faggotry and general obnoxiousness and the drama I specifically sought to avoid.
This has lead us to believe that this is not worth our respective times, aswell as the times of the decent people that have come here - I advise you not to play with /tbcg/ altogether except for a few select people, if you want to have any serious shot at clearing any of the interesting content.
Regardless I thank you all for the interest you expressed in the formation of this and I apologize to those that are disappointed. Best of luck to you once Gummy goes live.

I think you're partially right - discord is a great tool after the server launches but isn't necessary before then. Even just a simple google doc or something would be better to tardwrangle everyone.
For afterwards it's a bit better as once you know who is in the guild and not cancer, you can police the discord effectively.
But yeah, either way discord isn't mandatory at any stage. I actually like the simple guild sites used for calendar/event invites and stuff but maybe that's partially nostalgia. Discord feels like a chore to keep up with feels more like yahoo chat than WoW.
