There's one thing i don't understand about hardcore players

why do they play as hardcore in a game that's prone to connection issues, glitches and bugs? Hell, you could have your internet drop or a power surge, or a heart attack and lose control of your character and waste weeks of progress on it due to something that wasn't your fault.

Because leveling a character is easy. Currently ~8 hours and some change gets you to maps. Another day playing on top of that and your build should be ready to go. The only thing lost is gear but farming currency is pretty easy so that's w/e. Plus it motivates you to try a different build.

Capped res is only assumed towards the end of each difficulty and now just before the minus res is applied I guess. While leveling you should be able to cap the res you need and ignore the rest. Crits are a game mechanic, have some ehp and damage mitigation and they aren't an issue. Any anons that fancy melee builds? I am torn between ascendancies as well as the main skill. Trying to build something viable for self-found mid-tier hc mapping.

1) Juggernaut, Berserker, or Slayer? Will I be able to sustain CwDT+IC with Jugg? I do not want to be struggling with bosses especially after hp buffs in 3.0, and damage buffs in Zerker/Slayer trees look pretty good.

2) I am partial to 2H and Sunder, but what are the advantages of going DW+Blade Flurry? It is AoE-based, how fucked is it after the aoe "rebalancing"?

3) I feel like Hatred is largely a tooltip booster due to resistances, will I be gimping myself if I go BM?

1) Slayer, no question asked. That leech, that 20% cull, that perma onslaugh, more damage, reflect protection. Laugh your ass off when multi-phases bosses drop like idiots, Izaro being the funniest of them all. It's so good, you should even take it if you're not going 2H.
2) Blade Flurry is the best melee skill, but fill horrible as an AoE clear now. Still the best single target (can basically one shot Shaper if build right with godly gear). I personally can't stand it anymore, just too slow.
3) Hatred is still king. Go full ele conversion (40% from tree + 50% from Phys to Lighting gem or 50% from off-hand Moonbender's wing) and scale both phy and ele, and Hatred really shine.

Nah, keep the support gems.

A system similar to Legacy/Prophecy in sense of interface. Skills have a separate menu where they can be allocated. Active ones can be linked with support, and are no limited to 6L.

Think of skill tree, but instead player has a choice of what is in it.

Gear influences skill slots, so jew/fus sink is still there.

The purpose is to cram even more support skills to actie ones.

Thats my take on it.

I've killed every boss in the beta as a "melee" (sunder slayer). It's honestly not as bad.

Arakaali is arguably harder as a ranged, because she has really huge safe spots right next to her and staying away triggers her "let's cover the entire arena in lasers" ability.

Supports should strictly be utility and they should all have a damage component additionally to get the damage up.

Path of Exile isn't the kind of game for having complex and intricate boss fights because that does not compliment the strengths of the genre or Path of Exile. Same rule applies to the labyrinth; this is not a fucking platformer. If I wanted to play a platformer or a pseudo shooting game then I would go play those. If I wanted intricate and complex bosses that require dancing I would be playing monster hunter or something similar. Those games are built for that gameplay while Path of Exile isn't. Whenever they try to replicate that shit in their dumpster tier homebrew engine it always feels like shit. They could instead make bosses that focus solely on the strengths of their game and stop making shit bosses that are only subjects for their advertisement trailers. Why do you think they are making stuff like shaper in the first place? Vaal oversoul is a good example of a great boss that works well in their engine. Atziri is about all they can do in Path of Exile. Uber trio is also a difficult boss that adheres to ARPG fundamentals that works in their engine.

Lockstep is fine on my end, when the servers aren't shitting themselves. The beta servers are trash though, at times it's unplayable like my ping goes from ~40 to up to 150 and back down every second.
But yeah, desynch still happens from time to time, mostly for mobs, such as necros, which has been the case ever since GGG introduced lockstep.
And actual predictive has been improved, no clue how much better it is though, I've been playing lockstep since 2.0.

Perandus was a mistake, it gave too many things at once and now the only thing they can do is either take things away or double down on giving more speed and power to players.
