No, that's ridiculous. What I'm saying is pretty true in my experience, "unique" CoD's often vary little from guns and knives because they all have the same attributes:

So it doesn't matter. I can argue a case where someone was shot to death the same way I argue a case where someone was pushed into a shark tank and eaten. What I'm saying is, rather than focus on making the CoD unique, we should focus on making the murder itself unique, anon.

This Sunday(9/07) at about 11am EST the practical portion of the mod exam will take place.

A server will be put up at 10 am and we encourage people to get together and prepare a case for what will be torture for the steno.

There will be one graded and one ungraded phase to test the mod applicants. The "nature" phase, where a few specific players participating in the trial will begin causing trouble and ruckus from inside to the point when moderator action will be required, will take place first and be graded. After all available applicants have gone through this phase, an ungraded Chaos phase where anyone in the server will be allowed to storm in the case and break any rules they want to disrupt it. All moderators will participate in this phase together.

To expand on this, I recently played a case where the cause of death was being locked in a freezer. That was actually unique in that the killer had to both

>have access to the keys to open the freezer
>lock the victim in for an uninterrupted amount of time

Both of those attributes add another layer that a simple gunshot murder wouldn't have. On the other hand, I've also played a case where someone was hanged to death, and that didn't matter at all. As in, it could have been a stabbing, because the death was instantaneous (neck broken) and the defendant needed to overpower the victim to kill them in close physical proximity.

I think players focus a lot on unique CoD's, even dismissing guns and knives as "boring", come up with some wack shit that's functionally the same, but have the same old boring-ass settings, motives, opportunity to kill, etc. and pat themselves on the back for being "innovative".

So, yes, unique CoD's are nice, but so are unique motives and unique settings and unique... everything. You can't just slap some weird shit in the autopsy and consider the case unique. Usually circumstances trump method of murder, in my experience.

This is how we should handle content addition from now on

Someone is in charge of the 'coder/content team'. Either someone like anongrill or someone put in charge of that.
That team works on shit like rips, fixing content, and patching shit up to be added to the serb.

Any non-AA content (Or perhaps just certain content if we hypothetically allow the team to add whatever) is then put into a pot.
This is then polled in a batch or evaluated by the higher-ups for addition depending on what the "supervisor" of the team believed.

Batch votes and routine votes regarding major changes such as satisfaction with content added and potentially write-in details like wishing for attitude to change would be delivered periodically. Most likely after every update, so that there would be a specified schedule for when shit is decided to be in or out. User polling would be similar in this way but instead of being thrown out whenever, it'd go into the pool and either veto'd or let polled.
