Even better, I have a sneaking suspicion that the fairy you don't quite meet in that story might become a new summon for you at a later date.

It appears to be dark aspected, so it might be a DPS/debuffing type fairy that doesn't do much, if any, healing. Though if we do eventually get it it'll be two years out minimum. Though with the current state of SCH, maybe they bring it out sooner. Here's hoping, anyway.

I just wanted to follow up on that conversation and let you guys know about the FFXIV TexTool which is a great little program for viewing textures, models, and extracting them properly. It grabs the diffuse textures(most of the time they're colored unlike this picture) which is handy.

The author also said he'd look into exporting rigged models on day.

Just alternate. Kasha combo, and Mangetsu AOE then Kaiten Tenka. Geppo combo and Oka AOE. That way you always have both self buffs up, you're conserving TP to an extent and still dumping Tenka's like a beast.

Assuming it's been ~15 seconds since the last combat they need to get their cast time + damage buffs up which is at least 4 global cooldowns, 6 if they need to generate the symbols for the finisher. So if you see them single targeting for like 20 seconds off the start of a big pull it's probably because of that.

I have literally never been goaded, I was a NIN player who did it to other people. Now that I run SAM I get into parties with other NINs in experts and I still don't get goads. Like nigga who else is gunna use it.

I don't think people carry it anymore because all the guides say not to take it because you don't need it in raids anymore if you have a guy with tactician since they've universally been making TP management a non-issue on virtually every class.

That said you are right. Hypercharge by itself is objectively better than Foe's Requiem.

Anyways to answer your question, MCH is weak because of personal dps gap. But it providing substantially less rDPS increase on top of it's over 100 DPS gap while having a high skill floor and extremely punishing gameplan has chaffed the asses of many MCH, myself included.

You can only overmeld crafted gear, raid/ex primal drops can't be overmelded so you're limited to the 100% chance slots, however it's likely tomorrow perhaps that the new crafter/gatherer and for the most part the real bulk will come out, resulting in maybe i310, i315, or i320 crafted that can be overmelded

in the case of VI materia you can overmeld once, so for a chestpiece crafted you could do 3 VI and 2 V materia, but it gets expensive because theres decreasing chances

This is the problem when providing raw numbers That's why nobody does it. It's not the case of 1.3% versus 1.9%. It is the case of over 50% stronger benefit for a raiding party, while still have excellent damage and providing stronger defensive support.

This isn't an opinion, it's fact. If you miss a button on a combo, you'll probably lose 90p. If a SMN fucks up his aetherflow stacks, he's out for 3 minutes. If a MCH is forced to drop a step, he loses 300p. The "floor" exists as a reference on how punishing a job is and how easy it is to execute it's core strategy.

Currently no other job punishes pressing a single wrong button with a 200 unrecoverable DPS loss. But it's not even about playing incorrectly. If you really want to know the dilemmas that plague a MCH who plays RIGHT but still loses at a minimum 200 of his DPS, just start here and read the post at the bottom of this message.

That 100+ dps gap that you mentioned? That was me going by the assumption that a flawless MCH played against an average BRD. In reality the gap will be higher on average due to the nature of the fights.

TL;DR
The difficulty of why MCH is in a rough place is because of the fact that it's hard to play well due to extreme execution, suffers from many circumstances of taking a loss for doing less damage, provides less raid damage than a Ninja never you mind BRD, and it's output damage is volatile, meaning that a MCH will never be a solid bet over a BRD
