You don't even need skill to use this character.
Leo has amazing mix ups in and out of combos. If you can hit your stance starter you can put your enemy in a 50/50. Can wall carry your ass from any where. Leo has a WS string that is safe on hit and attacks both mid and low for knock back. Leo is fucking gold in this game and will carry you to the stars.

of course it affects balance but rage arts and rage drive dont affect the skill gap at all. the better player will almost always win in tekken. obviously you are forced to play more defensively at the end of rounds instead of just overwhelming the person with offense. it's probably the best implementation of the 'ultra' mechanic originally in SF4. there isn't any braindead wake up dp FADC backdash that was safe until ultra. rage drives add another element as combo extenders or frame traps or mixup tools as well.

If your rounds are lasting more than 25 seconds you're better off with a different character.
Gigas greatly favors aggressive behavior, he'll lose a lot of trades if you get defensive with fast characters like Steve, Lili or Kazuya. Don't let them get momentum.
Get his bulldozer and grapple down. I've interrupted quite a few combos with those and they deal 60 damage on top of shifting momentum.

ttt2 rage was way better because it tied into the tag system really neatly by giving you tag crashing and having to tag out to actually use your rage and doing tag assaults gave the opponents partner rage and all that made for a cool risk/reward game that you could strategize with and around to however you see fit

Am I supposed to be button buffering every single 1+2, 3+4, etc command? For example sometimes I try to use Feng's b3+4 to dodge something and punish but sometimes I just get the b3 or 4 and get fucked over. I know button buffering solves this but it seems difficult to always know what I want to be buffering at most times.

Warm up and match list use the same pool of players
When you're warming up you can either be challenged by a guy using match list, or by another guy warming up. It'll first ask one of you if you're gonna accept the match, then if you accept it'll ask the second one. The game may also try to match you with another guy who's currently getting a request from another player, in that case you'll usually get "lost connection to the opponent" and I assume it's why warm up-only matchmaking on PS4 is reported to be slow as fuck

I've been watching Aris's stream as a way of learning Tekken while also being entertained, but it's come with a few side effects:
I find myself whispering "be cool" whenever I have a demotion/promotion match.
I've developed an almost Jekyll/Hyde like personality when playing ranked matches, where a "Good game" will immediately be followed up with a "...you bitch!"
Whenever I win my first round, I whisper "okay, two more o' those."
Item taunts trigger me, especially if they connect.
I imagine and refer to every online stranger I encounter as a "stoner."
I alienate my real life Tekken friends whenever I erroneously refer to Asuka as "Oscar," make mention of Law's "Bitch Made Stance," "SIR GAY" Dragunov, "Rozie JIZZ-all," or say "muchas garcias."
But seriously I could watch Aris play Tekken all day. Really educational/entertaining stuff.

no you can cancel the f+3 with d/f. the issue is that dragunov also has a ff+3 move and you usually need to dash up to do f+3 so you need to use buffers to be able to dash into f+3 in time
and then you also need to cancel the d/f duck with u so you don't get a ws move

you lose out on a lot of wall carry but the damage is typically pretty similar to 3,1,2 enders and those are infinitely easier

But reading on the Tekken wiki, it seems like "Devil" is a separate, sapient entity which possesses people. Kazuya supposedly has "half" of this devil, which came to him as he lay dying in the ravine where Heihachi dropped him. The wiki even suggests that Devil has some power over Kazuya as an individual. Is this what happened to Jinpachi in T5? He got devil'd? How does any of this begin to make sense, and why is it called the devil "gene"?

It makes no sense that someone 4 levels over me is worth less than someone the same level. If they were worth the same then I could play against a wider range of ranks and not have to wait as long on matches.

This is my take on it.

The Devil transformation is part biological part spirit. While you need the Devil spirit to transform, you also need to have the genes/blood cells for this Devil spirit to have an effect.

The Devil spirit is kind of parasitic and has a will to take over it's host. Kazumi points this out that transforming into a Devil results in being consumed by it. She has no love for it and in a way expresses it as a curse.

While the Devil spirit can split it has a unified agenda which makes unifying itself once again possible. When split the power of it is divided but can grow in power independently of one another making it's power even greater if the spirit unifies.

Jin's tattoo is not the mark of the Devil, but rather a spirit "seal". This comes from the bloodline of Kazama's as you can see this exact tattoo on Jun Kazama's transformed state into Unknown. Not sure how it works but the outcome is to either suppress the Devil gene or the Devil spirit but most likely spirit due to Jun being possessed by a purple slime wolf. The level of suppression seems to always be in flux, perhaps triggered by emotion judging Jin's TTT2 ending.

Kazuya seems to have taken control over the Devil spirit through the G Corporation experiments. Kazuya has pretty much betrayed the pact he had with the Devil spirit and is now in control of the spirit parasite.

Jinpatchi has been possessed by a vengeful spirit. Jinpatchi being possessed by the Devil spirit is a deliberate red herring. As much as his ending says that he's a devil, the Devil spirit traits like head horns and wings are not on Jinpatchi.
