I think oversaturating a title with bad, floaty animation is worse than the typical sprite system. Yuzusoft games have a nice middle ground where they discard shitty animated sprites for just a shit ton of sprite variations. It's just as dynamic, but looks much better.

Then again, Monobeno had the same issues as Maitetsu: characters looking at you 24/7, no matter who you were having a conversation with, weak expression variations, pretty boring H overall. I find it really bizarre that Lose's H-scenes have been hyped up when they're so fucking boring.

There have been companies with licensed products that have had fan translations before, and that didn't stop them from continuing.

Firstly, a license is with a product and now a direct holding over all the companies merchandise. The license only exists with Majikoi, which is from Minato Soft. JAST has no legal grounds to send a C&D to them when Tsujidou is a Minato Carnival, which despite being apart of the same parent company of Minato Soft is a separate entity on its own and they aren't even apart of the same franchise.

Also, let's consider the companies here: JAST is slow and never does anything. There have been more than a few Nitro+ titles which have been fan-translated whilst they held a license and C&Ds were never sent to them. Even if we presume that Tsujidou would eventually get licensed, it would be years before those talks were held since JAST is going to take forever to release Majikoi.

Worse case scenario? Somehow Hawkeye Co. gets wind of a fan translation for Tsujidou, already feels as if they have plans to eventually put it to the West, and they send them a C&D. But in all likelyhood no one will give a shit.

Here's a more personable example, since Irru & Trip already worked on it. Tone Work's is owned by Visual Arts. Visual Arts owns Kanon, Clannad, Little Busters, Rewrite, etc. and are actively pushing into the West, by self-publishing and working through Sekai. With as widely publicized as Hatsukoi's TL was, why didn't they send a C&D to Trip/Irru when they have an active Western agenda? Because they likely do not pay so close attention to fan translations, or perhaps they do not care at all because there are no current plans to bring Tone Work's titles to the West at the moment.

Listen. Let's put it like this: MG was a gigantic fuck up from their inception to around 2013ish. Back before Sekai came around, MG was regularly shit on here for terrible translations, slow releases, and for being NukigeGamer. They started wising up around the time that Sekai started grabbing far more interesting licenses (even if they were of already translated games), and pushed into more ambitious territory. They started communicating with the community more (they were absolutely terrible at PR like Sekai is), they fired shitty translators and got better ones, and they got more interesting licenses. After around 2 years of that (I would say 2015), their reputation around here started getting a lot better. This was helped a bit by the contrast to Sekai's reputation, which even back then wasn't great, and JAST never released fucking anything. Thus, MG's reputation shifted from being absolutely terrible to being the only good option for the 'core' visual novel fans.

Sekai giving the fans the 18+ content they've been crying for is a start, but that's all it is. And they have a reputation for lying and massive delays. Let's not forget the numerous Kickstarter promises they still haven't held up. If Sekai genuinely improves, and does this for about a year or two, then their reputation will shift and became more positive. That's just the way it is. You aren't going to heal years of wounds in one night, but it's a start.

Easily one of the worst parts about Sekai is their general lack of transparency. The "QA" for Leyline ended up just being, "Oh, we're waiting for the all-ages version."
