I don't know about retreading old paths. This is the first time a story like this has been done. And the token Garlean was the most unique out of all of them. Even the Ascians who have just been obligatory for years now weren't around to generic shit up.

But that's for story. While I did find the story interesting it didn't keep up the tone of Heavensward. And so it's awkwardly light hearted and lacking overall intensity that HW had. They didn't really show the brutalities of oppression well either except with your mustache twirling bad guys who just beat up random people for no reason but clearly don't do that often given how thriving these territories are.

The docile and complacent masses was also done sloppily. As was the "youth breaks out from his village to fight for a cause" trope. So while the theme of revolution and freedoms were there and shoved into your face. They weren't done well enough.

Now in regards to content I don't have an opinion. It's just into release and I have no idea what to expect. Two primals with reasons to do both of them instead of one over the other is already a strong start.

I can't get over how much MNK got shafted, especially with the Ivon Coeurlfist fight we got showing that they could have done new moves to replace old ones or the awful shit we have now
>hurricane kick replacing one ilm punch for an AoE rotation that attacks in a cone
>Silent Roar as a chakra spending ranged attack that does high damage, possibly a secondary effect depending on stance you're in
>touch of death could have recieved a Touch of Slaughter trait that makes the ticks crit more often, tying into deep meditation buffing
>Spirit Wave could have been a high potency AoE that drops both GL3 and Chakra stacks for high damage to mob dps checks

I've been playing a lot of SCH lately and I hate how limited it feels for AoE healing compared to AST/WHM. Succor costs a lot of MP and Indominability has a recast time that feels way too long, especially when fighting a boss/trial with multiple party-wide AoEs in a row. I know Eos' HP regen skill can mitigate the problem somewhat, but am I missing something or does SCH really feel underwhelming for AoE healing?

I have a question to fellow White Mages. How are you melding your gear? As in, what do you consider your main secondary attribute? In HW, I melded full accuracy but my Relic had piety. Now I am not sure if I should meld piety or crit, or perhaps direct hit.

Thin Air is fine. The combination of Thin Air + more frequent Assize + Lucid being better than Shroud, is leaning towards possibly being too much.

Lucid Dreaming ticks 960MP per tick, 7 ticks (6720MP). This does not scale with your MP, it is a level-based potency (854 at Lv60).
Because of this and Thin Air, piety is pretty shit.
Direct Hit is the way to go for all classes until we have over 3300 critical strike

Someone has been doing the proper math in previous threads, but DH gives you more per stat at the moment compared to Crit. And for tanks and healers, because their gear has no DH naturally, they get the biggest boost from having any DH at all.

so for whatever reason playing FFXIV, and only XIV, completely kills my wifi (it sets the signal icon to full grey with a red x) to where I have to run the diagnostic tool to reset it and get internet back again, but it doesn't do that with other games

That'd be cool. I try to keep a lookout on enemy teams for people I know, but with all of the people pvping lately it can be really difficult. Do you usually have a specific class/outfit you play in PvP to lookout for ? I usually play RDM in my normal outfit, DRK in the AF3, or WHM in a tux though WHM very rare.

It was pretty lackluster before but it's pretty decent now. Premade 4v4s are the only mode where you won't be stuck with a group of complete mouth breathers though.

Play Bard. If you're halfway competent you'll top the damage, kills, assists and probably any objectives as well.

SCH isn't supposed to be good at AoE healing, it never was. It's supposed to excel at mitigation, which wouldn't be a problem if Adlo/Succor didn't cost so much and Aetherflow returned more MP. Seeing as it has to press more buttons to AoE heal, it doesn't make sense that it has the worst mana management. That's really the main issue right now.

It probably won't be any time soon and they probably won't be called "viera", but there's enough demand for them in the west and in Japan that it's essentially just a money pit that SE is sitting on. It's not like creating new player character models would be overly difficult, either.
