I have been around for the original honor system launch and I know what it looked like, especially after the requirement for honor flairs went up drastically.
Thing is this time it's very much "in your face" in the endgame screen, there are more benefits than a "I am so nice it's actually annoying" flair and Riot Jews is going to push it even further so it will not pass nearly as fast if ever. It's just going to get less noticeable over time as we ourselves get used to it and other people get bored of sucking dick for honors.
