I was talking about 2 different modes in the first post. Oddball is basically keepaway. You grab the ball, and hold it to score points over time. There's another mode from Call of Duty called Uplink, which is basically American Football. You carry the ball from the middle of the map into a goal. Throwing the ball earns less points than physically carrying the ball into the goal.

How do you build scorch so he is effective?


Legion you need the hidden compartment double shot thing. That overcharge core is nice, but it is harder to kill tones without that dash through their shield.

scorch's best kits are wildfire and inferno shield, everything else is kind of shit and could use a balance pass. use the dash so you can get in and burn people down with the shield easier.

scorch is easily the weakest titan. he really only performs well on maps like complex and crashsite, places with little movement for titans. go with dash and either the thermal shield kit or wildfire launcher.
thermal shield kit is usually the #1 pick, but now that monarch and arc rounds exist, thermal shield becomes useless if they are in you game.
wildfire launcher is the next best kit. itll drop more thermite i think, or make it do more damage, i dont know. use the thermite in every way you can; shoot it at ceilings to drop thermite behind shields, use it to flush out pilots or even get them off your back if they rodeo you etc.

I played a lot of the golden age arena shooters and had great fun, but I don't like Lawbreakers much so far. At least it is a skill based arena shooter but I still prefer UT2004. The maps are so small, and it's so fucking ugly. I can see why people with a certain mindset would prefer it to Titanfall, since even in beta it seems to be better balanced and less of a clusterfuck in terms of basic design. Hero/weapon balance aside, the maps are pretty much symmetrical and you will never spawn into thermite. You'll never spawn as titan and instantly be crushed by a reaper warpfall. Melee requires you to actually touch people. Lol.

The characters, their designs, and their voices are mostly terrible. But I do think the female battle medic is cute. I just didn't want to visit this 'world' or its people. They have dialogue and personalities, unlike the random lizards and skeletons from Quake, so who the fuck are they! Why are they even fighting!

The abilities all seem reasonably fun to use. Maining EPG made it easy for me to land a bunch of midairs with the medic's grenade launcher. The chaingun/jetpack chick was fun too, great for FAST, but already I see she's a low tier character.

Unfortunately it seems designed to be a clusterfuck from the ground up. Like those fucking joke user maps in older games, like space CTF in quake 3 that never made it to quake live because it wasn't respectable enough. Like in the single flag mode, the flag is just in a cylindrical room that everyone is supposed to rush into and just jump around. You're just supposed to control the area with your ultimate abilities as far as I can tell. That's when it feels like overwatch, and feels really bad.

That hero is currently OP but they can change it easily just by tweaking damage numbers. I think. Some of the movement abilities are bound to be better than others and might require more major changes. But I mean the general map design and game systems seem to be fairer than Titanfall and with less random bullshit. Also the servers are already better. I never had a shot lag into oblivion. Whereas in Titanfall 2 every 10th charge rifle shot doesn't appear on the screen.

For ow unlimited ammo fits thematically to me since its so cartoony and upfront casual like a "super type" fps. Was really surprised a "real type" shooter had it going on when I bought tf2. What's the best way to practice going fast while actually killing things at the same time? Dunking on the average slow with raw reflexes and FPS experience but being powerless against anyone who understands how to fast gets so frustrating sometimes. I've actually completely given up on CTF because of it.

vs other Fasts positioning more important than any weapon skill i think, since even within the elite cadre of Fast Pilots, most of them just go fast with no intent. like most people get reasonably acquainted with the movement and think it's enough to just be fast and there's nothing more to learn

there's a tiny, tiny subfraction of fast pilots who actually move with full intent and quickly plan out their routes to achieve or avoid specific things. usually if you can get to this point, you can just rely on your heat-seeking kick to clean up other fasts who aren't paying as much attention to their routes and just relying on their technique

Thank you for the suggestions. I've learned to quickly switch to my pistol from cold war and with the softball I get more kills with my pistol than the gun itself. Oddly I feel like I'm pretty decent with the CW unlike the softball even though my k/d with the two guns is probably identical.
I feel like I have to predict their movement and account for the blast radius and fuse delay like a damn mathematician. I'll get gud with it eventually though, I swear.

All the worthwhile content is included in free updates (maps, the new titan, etc). There's also cosmetic DLC like skins, alternate titan models, etc. The shitty cosmetic DLC is what came bundled in the one I bought, which is why I feel the $40 pricetag was worth it in my case. overall tone did more damage, shield absorbed more damage. combined with how easy the 40mm is to pick pilots off, and your rockets being able to go over/past cover, it made for a strong titan.
combine all of that with the fact that tone is by FAR the easiest titan to play. anyone can pick up tone and do decent. put tone in an actual good players hands and you had a monster of a titan.

tone is still the easiest to play no contest, but otherwise balanced, besides maybe still being too easy to kill pilots with the 40mm

Best AT is the hacked charge rifle. The reticle is a bit unusual but easy to get a handle of quickly. Archer is real easy to use and tracks targets like a mosquito. However, if you need to burn a group of Titans the Thunderbolt is the way to go. It also charges your Titan meter like a mofo

always charge. the damage increase as you charge is NOT linear. meaning that a half charged shot does not do half the damage of a full charged shot.

Just tested, it is 300 damage a tick. Starts at 500 (leaving out the tens and units here) and ramps to 2000 at max charge, non crit. Guess that means DPS is about the same across charge and non charge oddly enough, so in flanking situations it may well be best to fire your charged shot then pepper them with uncharged/slightly charged shots just to confirm the damage as fast as possible while you have the chance.

how many ticks are there? it should be 250 for the 1st tick.
either way, even if this is right, its a bad habit to get into. you want to be doing as much damage as you can in one hit so you can get that crit multiplier. if you have an enemies back, you should be tethering and clustering/smokeing them before you start attacking again.
you really might as well melee if your plan is to do max damage to a titans back. melee is 500 on all titans except ronin, which is 800. you wouldnt have to reload.

Never press forward on an enemy Titan. Always flank and control corners with gas canisters. Doing this will net you a long life as Scorch.

I run Wildfire, Overcore, and the battery boost, so I start each Scorch with 50% core. Be a menace. Engage a Titan with your thermite launcher, drop behind a corner, light a fire so they either can't follow you or will take damage doing so, repeat. Flank when you can and melt Titans.
