He's great. Zoning characters with decent normals, invincible meterless flash kick and a slow projectile that allows him to follow behind it and mix you up.

You have to be pretty good at holding charge to play him properly, and he probably has the hardest execution in the game, but ultimately it's nothing compared to what was in XIII.

Why is everything called "canceling" in fighting games? Like in Street Fighter I think you can "cancel" normal moves that have already hit your opponent into specials/supers. But to me canceling should be something what you can often do to your slow, unblockable moves in Tekken and Soul Calibur for example - you're about to do it but cancel it before it actually finishes, as a reaction to your opponent's reaction or maybe as a feint or something.

Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK/Injustice have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.

When a move is + on block that means I get those additional seconds to do a move so if a move was +3 on block and I did a jab that was 7 frames then they would need a move that was 4 frames or lower to beat it right?

The matchmaking and ranking system is shit, so I don't even play it daily anymore. I am hoping they actually fix that shit soon.

They need to change it so beating anyone higher ranked than you is worth as much a beating someone the same rank. It doesn't make sense otherwise, and it would greatly help matchmaking by increasing the number of people you can match with.

By the way, anyone know why this happens? I usually get much worse connections to lobbies than to actual players inside, so sometimes I can't enter an EU lobby because I don't meet the owner's requisites. Once I can get in I don't usually suffer from bad connections though.
