I think it's usually written as Junkrat developing a crush on Mei, who wants nothing to do with him (which fits with their interactions, I think - Mei's hostile, but Junkrat's lines come off as teasing at worst). One-sided attraction has been done before plenty of times in fiction, and it might ultimately give Junkrat a reason to try and self-improve, even if it's just to impress Mei and get her to warm up to him a little. If executed properly, it's pretty nice!

Currently climbing to GM from Diamond as a Mercy one-trick who has barely touched her previous seasons.

I've gone from 3k to 3350 in about 30 hours with a <45% winrate.

It's kind of frustrating and feels like I have very little influence over whether or not I win a game, but she's actually pretty fun when you're winning.

Soldier has a huge amount of grace period in terms of keep charge. You can get killed after pressing Q and the animation starting and still keep the full charge because it doesnt start draining until the animation is over and you can start shooting

I killed a soldier on hanamura defense after he ulted and started shooting from the high ground, then we lost the point on the next push because he had it again anyway. I asked him how much ult % he was down to after he died.

It was 80%. He said it was bullshit himself

You need someone to draw fire away from the team and keep them shielded enough to do their job, you leave them open without cover and they'll perish. Genji's deflect is about as close to a "shield" as it gets for a DPS character, but its at best going to help in a pinch.

It's bullshit that you can climb SR with a 35% win rate sombrero but you'll lose rank if you're playing a 50% win rate 76.

Basically off meta heroes dont see lots of play and get picked to "troll" often, so heroes like hanzo, sombra, orisa, widow, etc. Tend to have absolutely trash stats on average

So if you play well as them you'll look like a god to the stat system and get rewarded for it

On the flipside meta heroes like winston and soldier see fucktons of play, and are very strong, so their stats are extremely refined on average. So unless you play like an actual god every game, you'll get less than average sr gains for a win and harsh losses for a loss

I mean, it kinda makes sense for someone like Winston to not revert immediately to his normal form. And it kinda maybe sorta does makes sense for Genji to not sheathe his sword once he'd been hacked. But there's no explanation as to why hacking interrupts Reaper spinning really fast and throwing around a lot of guns but it doesn't interrupt Soldier's aimbot machine, aside from "they gave Sombra's hack McCree's flashbang properties". I'm no coder, but I don't think it would be that difficult to adjust her hack on its own.

Still, even leaving aside the whole thing with channeled/not channeled, the fact that some characters lose their ult charge completely if they get killed immediately after pressing Q and some get to keep it even after their animation is halfway over by the time they're killed is bullshit. There has to be some middle ground between "I got killed mid-swing while Earthshattering and kept my 100% charge for the next push" and "I got sniped immediately after I pressed Q to high noon and lost 100% of my charge".

Not only is it sort of unbalanced but it also punishes you for quickly disposing of a threat. Slept/killed/pinned Genji while he was unzipping his dragon? Too bad, here, let him try again.

An anchor tank locks down the point. They sit there, don't move, and don't let anyone touch their spot. They're like an anchor to their team - holds everything in one spot.

That said, that's what anchors are SUPPOSED to do. Whether or not that's possible with the current heroes and meta is another thing.

Not a Scrapvermin main but here are some ways to play him effectively even if people here will screech for enabling more people to play him

Get used to his projectiles, they're wonky as fuck but using them effectively for direct hits can do some stronk damage. Learn to lead shots when in a 1v1 instead of just going apeshit with them, save that for when there's a push and you're about to engage a group with yours. If you're in a 1v1 and about to die, just get in close and try to suicide it with your grenades + bomb passive, its better to take him down too with your life instead of just letting him take it without consequences.

His mine is decent mobility, use it to get up to higher terrains to make use of the high ground or to bridge the gap between enemies that are trying to get in close to you, if there's no good highgrounds possible then for the love of god don't run away from your team, you're still a glass cannon and if you're learning him still then you're not ready to try such risky moves.

Leave the bear trap in alleys and flanks, don't stray far from it in case you snag a prize, you can often leave a mine + trap in the same area for huge trap damage but people will often see one or the other and it leaves you with just your grenades, you'll often know if either are destroyed because the detenator from your hand will disappear or you'll just get the "DESTROYED" cue.

And his ultimate, as appealing as it is to get multiple kills, aim to get the healers first and foremost and whoever gets killed in the process is just bonus points. Run it up walls a bit and use the third person view to assess the situation, it both stalls people looking around to find it thinking its closing in and it lets you see whos in the general area better.

Rein and Orisa work on 2CP defense pretty well. Sometimes on payload defense as well if you move from chokepoint to chokepoint, unless the enemy team is going full dive. On KOTH Orisa can work fine, Reinhard gets demolished most of the time, though.

What? Reaper requires more brains to use than Soldier but he's not "high skill." Reaper is also much better now due to the buff like you would not believe, he can brawl so hard, he kills Winston for free, he can pop D.Va's mech instantly or force her to concentrate solely on him, he pretty much has to be focused on sight. The hardest part of playing Reaper is having a team that isn't retarded and will cover you until you can get onto the thing and then is able to take advantage of the chaos. Otherwise he is really simple to play.
