Drop tremor. It's shit tier, poorly balanced, and steals from other mods. Only use Thorium for a large amount of content. If you're looking at Calamity, it doesn't fit too well. Some good QoL mods to look at are Boss Checklist, Magic Storage, Recipe Browser, Which Mod is This From, Vanilla Tweaks, and Summoner's Association. Spirit is reportedly good alongside Thorium, but I haven't tried it out yet.

Download tmodloader. Most mods you can find are on the mod browser integrated into the main menu's ui. Thorium isn't on there yet, so you'll have to download it manually. Pretty simple though, just open the mods folder from in game and drop it in.

Should be, they're the ones I use, along with the /tg/ mod someone made here which is also a pretty good small QoL mod. All mods are compatible, but a lot of major content mods will have overlapping content from having the same ideas or just be poorly balanced when combined.

I haven't played Healer or Summoner very far into the game, but I do know that Magic is not very good. It's got some good utility weapons (the Hallowed Staff) but you don't need to be a mage to use them. In the end, you will be screwed over by massive mana costs.
If you're already a Summoner, keep going. I agree that the meteor summons are boatloads of fun. It miffs me that modded summons can't be summoned at the cursor, though. (Unless that's been fixed in some update.)
Don't forget to make the meme weapon after entering the Dungeon. It's got summoning damage, so Mana Sickness does nothing to it.
The next time you play a server, become a Thrower. At one point in the game, it escalates really, really steeply. Buy the books from the desert NPC asap or you'll have to make a new world to get them.

Just installed like 10 mods.

I didn't have enough gemstones to make a hookshot nor did I manage to drop one, but I wanted to face the first boss anyway.

So I made an arena to jump up and around on using wood platforms and some rope, it was pretty dope. I'm thinking of expanding it and using it as my final destination anytime I use a boss summoning monster

Yes, Highlander mods don't exist. The only problem is that Terraria is a 32bit application, so it has a 3.5 gig limit that it shares with all 32bit applications running at the same time. If you install a lot of mods that effect world gen, like Spirit and Calamity, you could end up running out of memory during world generation. Hopefully 1.4 will move it into 64bit and we won't have to worry about that anymore.

Anyone else here who have hundreds of hours in the game and is itching to play more, but doesn't play because it's a commitment?

I can't play for 3-4 hours a day, when i play i do it for several hours at a time. The only exception is when i play with others, but i don't have friends atm. I don't have time to play now that i have a job. Can't wait for summer vacation in 2 weeks. I haven't played in months, but i regularly post here.

Poorly balanced and not very thought out. There is barely any 'progression', bosses are fought at seemingly random times and for little reason and weapons and armor are either completely worthless or so OP that you get tired of using them. Most drops are also from random enemies.

Like the Arachnophobia, a sword that acts like the Seedler, but shoots out a egg sac filled with spider babies that then act like the Spider Summon until they disappear. Very powerful sword on it's own, projectile deals damage, projectile has no cooldown and baby spiders also deal your full melee damage. This sword deals 8 times it's listed damage on every swing.

Its balance is shit, its spritework is lazy shit and uninspired they have a custom biome that doesn't even have its own background because they were too lazy to make one, its content overall is shit and often doesn't even work properly. I'd say it follows a quantity over quality approach but other, actual high quality, mods have as much quantity too so it doesn't even have that going for it.

I would suggest trying Spirit mod as well. It's got some decent progression, adds some more NPCs, bosses are fun and have actual mechanics to their fight. It does add in it's own biome after a certain boss is killed and the mobs there can be a bit of a pain. It also has a new system for weapons called the artifact system, where you can take this item generated in your inventory when you make a new character. You can make it into a weapon using materials and then upgrade it throughout the game. It seems a decently powerful weapon throughout if you are having trouble finding the kind of weapon you want to use.

Both the enemies and the weapons. During the first few nights you'll find your self barricaded due to the mobs that are way too strong for somebody with a platinum/gold bow at most.
weapons are either shit or overpowered

2. Bosses are shit and post moon-lord bosses are somehow EASIER than fishron/moonlord

3.Steals content from other mods, and sometimes their own mod stuff doesn't work (I've seen biomes with those dungeon chests and when i bring a golden key they contain fucking nothing

I'd rather play "Lets run around the whole map with an overpowered weapon to kill an edgy spazmatazm" Calamity than tremor any day of the week

There are no hard, strict rules to balance in a PvE game, a run and gun bullet hell shooter like endgame Terraria is no more or less balanced than an action platformer like midgame Terraria or a mining simulator like earlygame Terraria.

So Bard is pretty fun. I love the idea of sentry buffs and being able to swap weapons to juggle the temporary buffs if you're dexterous enough. I just really wish the attack noises weren't 2-3 different horribly out of tune notes when you use the weapons. The flute and yew-wood lute so far have made me turn off my game sound while I have them equipped.

The thing about ol skelly is that his charge has poor vertical speed. Take the fight UP and DOWN and all around. After the hands come off, just keep circling him to avoid the skulls he spits. I figured that was the issue. Getting caught by Spaz will fuck you up. Do you have the Cross from the mimic? You are going to need the extra frames of invincibility so you can get out of a constant attack. Melee is the hardest spec to be using against those two since you can't play keep away as easily.
