The idea with people dying in singularities, is that if they die there then the world has marked them as dead. Once the singularity is fixed, the world still considers them dead. Its basically like a causality conductor; the way they died was retconned, but the fact that they're dead is still a fact. So they just died to something else, like an animal attack or drowning. Anyone that dies is still dead, but not because of what happened in the singularity anymore.

Instead an Earthquake hit the town or something random like that.
