How long does it take to beat the main scenario content for Rance Quest? I totally forgot that Rance 10 was coming and I need to finish both Quest and 9 before it releases. Is the Magnum content canon or just more gameplay? Either way I feel like I'm on somewhat of a clock and unless it signficantly improves later (only just now got the curse) I don't feel happy enough with Rance Quest's gameplay atm to do stuff that isnt directly related to the overall story.

I'm not a hanny, I just poked in here to read reactions to the evenicle reveal.
I actually don't believe the gameplay is that fun, I just believe it's "solid" and "simple". The game is mostly easy throughout but never boring. It's basically raw classic JRPG gameplay in its most refined form which makes it too simple to be that much fun but it never really gets boring either because it's so fast paced and you're always unlocking new moves.

I beat all of Evenicle and I only died to the final boss and to a certain encounter which was under special circumstances. Too easy, but still engaging if that makes sense. I guess it's kind of like playing a new 2D mario after playing most of the earlier ones - you won't struggle or be at the tip of your seat but you'll still have a good time.

I think there's a fine line between being "easy" and "brainless", and I definitely think Evenicle is more brainless than anything.
I also don't believe that the design intending for a game to be easy makes it "okay" for the game to be so easy it's not that fun. There's a fuckload of customizability and potential in Evenicle's battle system but it's pretty much never used to even a fraction of its potential except for the final boss. I think that's bad even if it was "intended".

I hope Nan does another game eventually. I like Orion better but his art looks nice and soft. Great big tits.

I installed it without any problems but the skills are kind of driving me crazy. I was hoping Magnum would have added cool skills but it seems like the best strat is just to jack up your raw stats and beat shit down, are there skills that arent in the initial menu or am I doomed to just be doing basic attacks forever? everything else in the initial skill menu is completely skill point inefficient and has too few uses to consider.

There are some useful skills, in particular strong area ones. Early on before you have at least a small rooster of usable and leveled up characters, it's best to rely on the cheap skills.

If there was one thing that would have made the gameplay much better for me is if like 6 we had a small group of characters, like 12~15, that always got full XP from battles.

Strong skills have few uses, but if I remember correctly some skills will only show if you leveled the proficiency tied to it enough, like sword mastery unlocks some sword skills.
Still, strong skills have few uses, and the basic attacks are what you'll mostly use.
It's what balances the skills in the game somewhat.

I personally prefer this over VI's system where stronger skills had charge times.

I'm happy for fellows anons, Evenicle was a great game, so it's good if more people can enjoy it. But for me it won't be of any use as I already finish it, and while I got used to itas a played and was able to enjoy the characters and H-scenes, the art isn't much to my liking so it wouldn't be worth for me to buy just for the uncensored CGs.

Also good to know AS is willing to provide an game that new, only from 2,5 years ago.

Come on Aru, that is quite a stretch. Both are medieval fantasy and Evenicle uses basically the same bestiary, and both seems to have a similar asshole creator god, but otherwise they are quite different. How the world work, countries, system, lore, all are very different.

Well, actually, the first Toushin Toshi is Rance but with different characters. It canonically takes place in the Continent and is set years after X. Rance takes part in it and is disqualified for trying to assault Yayoi before he wins.

Assuming editing speeds up, Evenicle will probably be ready for text insertion and stuff by August. Hopefully, SLC can program it quickly and beta testing is finished by December. It's vaguely possible that Evenicle may release earlier since it doesn't have to be made into HD, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Okay its a release that suits their purposes perfectly because their H-RPGs have sold exceptionally well. It appeals to both the Alicesoft fanbase and also branches out to possibly bring in the senran kagura fanbase and its one of Arunaru's favourite games. Its also much newer then the most recent game.

Given Maria's prior work on Quest there is no way Quest wouldn't be ready if they wanted and there is no reason why the license for Quest would be any harder to get.
