I've been putting off Morvran's challenge for a while now because I've never done spider. I've got ascension crossbows, asylum surgeon ring, yak, ovls, accuracy aura, etc.
1. How much of an improvement would Pernix legs and body be over Armadyl?
2. I've seen people say you can essentially alternate freedom and anticipation to make it a cakewalk, is that actually a viable strategy?

It's a pretty big improvement, with pernix most of his attacks will splash, with armadyl most of his attacks will hit. Totally doable in arma though.

You can onslaught araxxi at 30k hp to kill her before the acid core hits you. This is bad for fast kills but if you're learning, the last 25k hp is what most people have the most trouble with and it's an easy way to clear that.

Doing the math for just the xp the lamps with the max amount of chimes earned per day (30,000) it's actually twice as efficient as caches, at least at level 91
The amount of effort needed to actually figure out how long it takes to get the resources to cap out chimes each day is too much math for me.
Not worth doing for div instead of caches but almost definitely for agility especially considering you also earn xp in other skills.

Because it's probably been years since they did low level herby and the economy has changed a lot since then.
That or their definitions of early on are more in line with the actual xp requirements, 92 being only half of the way to 99.
Also there are some potions that may give you profit but aren't economical to train with, it's often a better idea to make the untradables because you need them for high level pvm.
