Every time a show shifts into drama heavy episodes I wish it would go back to the chill beginnings sort of like smooth SOL in moege. Same goes for movies and miniseries.
Even the romance feels better in moege.

I can't for the love of me find the motivation to go back to Dies. I'm at Kei's route nearing the final battle and somehow I'm drained out. It's been a week but I still can't find it in me to read. I'll just drop a passage for my overall impressions: Dies Irae doesn't seem to shine anywhere. It's romance feels pretty cliche and the investment was not enough for me to feel for the romantic relationships Ren have for either Katsumi or Kei. It's just too short and too rushed for me to feel like they are an actual couple. This is particularly for Kei. The first half is also too long and pointlessly drags to deliver exposition on the villains that all in all feels rigid so far.

The battles and fighting is one of it's stronger points but even then it loses completely to titles like Fate Stay and even Umineko. It's not bad but it's not fantastic either considering that it's marketed with fighting as its highlights. This might have to do with the weak MC(for the two routes at least) when compared to a better supporting cast like Shiro and Kei.

I thought Kei's route was kind of boring because of that romance stuff and I didn't really care for her all that much. The ending is pretty nice though, and the final series of battles should be interesting.

I'm not gonna complain about every typo, and that doesn't quantify a "bad translation." I can't actually say shit if the translator translated it well or not. Most of the time I will actually instead behead the editor or the QC/TLC. Its one thing to have a typo or two, its another to have blatant engine errors pass-by, vocal-text discrepancy, and complete errors pass by.

I could understand if this was 84% ChronoCuck, but I didn't expect this from MG.

You're comparing a company and a team of probably half a dozen or so to a two-man madmen team, one of which is a fucking neuroscientist who translates as a hobby and the other's a dutch shitposting with us on /vn/.

Also, the fact that the translation team actually has contact with the community for this shit is one of the easiest and best ways to keep folks updated and work through the process of making a good release.


Regardless I'm probably just fucking nitpicking like an autist regardless. Its just one of my insane, unreasonable and obsessive tics to at least make sure that something doesn't look like I didn't give a shit when I put it out to pasture.
