QA testing is labor. Experienced players willing to provide free labor should be given that opportunity.

Instead GGG's betas fill with players seeking an economic advantage via information asymmetry. Exploits are guarded and protected. Broken interactions are saved for new league economy snowballing. It keeps happening.

It would happen less if it was a fully open beta. Heck, if it was an open beta, race incentives should be within the beta. Instead, experienced players are spending most of their time out of beta trying to win demi's and mtx in races. The players who should be testing content are being incentivized to do something else.

People are self-interested. If they're forking over money to access a beta in most cases they're doing it for future economic advantage. It doesn't seem healthy for a game so strongly designed around trade economy. Information asymmetry should be minimized.

I wouldn't care if the game was designed around self-found. It's not. The economy is hyper competitive. You win with trade and broken interactions. Information is currency. Knowledge gleaned from beta access is already affecting the economy - skill changes, item changes, mechanic changes; anticipated meta shifts enable you to forecast supply and demand of various items, and buy/craft future legacies before the masses catch on.

Charging for beta is pay to win.

I think the argument behind Deep Dweller and Fairgraves is that they are the skillpoints that are most out of the way of the main game that require the most amount of walking to complete. The fact that they come at the point where most builds are at their absolute slowest in terms of clear speed and move speed doesnt help.

160% life is fine when you have MoM and Acro backing it up, you people pretend like you still need to get 200% life in every build. With Life mods on gear getting buffs and volatiles getting changed so only a retard gets hit by them this level of defense is good enough.

I ended up dropping crit in the build for damage because the damage ended up being significantly more DPS.

Events are like short leagues or races.

Just play through the area killing things and avoiding other things you can't kill

Leagues are seasons with unique mechanics. It's how they add new content to the game. Successful league mechanics get scaled down and integrated into the core game.

This event is a race. Yes. The big difference is that events are shorter and 'voided' (i.e. all characters and items deleted at the end) whereas leagues last months and at the end everything is migrated to the standard league.

Go play legacy until you stop being shit.

There's no custom UI because GGG are weird dumb twats. It's a deliberate decision to keep everyone on the same playing field. The UI has serious problems, many of which you haven't even experienced yet. We all just deal with it.

I don't really enjoy HC and don't find it enjoyable at the moment in current game state, no. That said I wanted to play the SSF version since it sounded fun with all the extra loot and was also my only chance of being competitive as I play alone. Forced to play HC and it did give for some decent fun regardless but it forever reinforces my distaste for HC as I found myself shying away from quite a few challenges and hard content simply because I knew it was safer.

I dont understand the point of casualizing PoE when the mechanics are still completely backwards and impossible for a casual player to understand without a LOT of out of game reading.

I constantly see people trying to get into this game but give up when they realize they wont have any clue what theyre really doing for hundreds of hours. Ive been playing this game since 2011 and I still get mechanics mixed up from time to time.

Im sure those Xbone players will understand More vs Increased and Global vs Local mods without looking shit up on their computer. There are so many little mechanics that you take for granted after playing for so long that are actually super fucking confusing for a new player.

My point is that PoE mechanics take what you know about other games mechanics and throws them out the window, it requires you to completely relearn how things work and rewire your brain to understand it.
