yeah your guys characters look pretty good. but about the 'preference' thing, there's such a thing as facial proportions. Things that make a face more recognizably human. eyes that aren't too high or too low. mouth that isn't too high or too low or too wide. shit like that. jaw lines that are either too pronounced or so absent you'd think they didn't have molar teeth. shit like that.

That's pretty much why ugly people irl, who aren't also disfigured, are 'ugly' cuz their facial proportions are more off than normal.

if you're new the game should give you some weapons to help you start out, but once you're able to you should buy a +15 Rosar weapon, they do sell fast so expect to take a bit at the market waiting to be able to buy one, that's normal

Always aim for Rosar. But if you're NA, then I would assume the market on those staves are low. So really you should just get anything you see with the highest enchantment. I'd say your total AP should be 70 at that level.

you can get something like this pretty easily, you can also buy pearl shop costumes from market place, but there are always a ton of bidders, they cost around 25m silver and they're very hard to win

save up for +15 Rosar or Yuria main hand weapon and +15 sub weapon, then +15 armors, that should be your first goal, don't bother enhancing yet, you don't have the economy to do it properly and learning how to failstack takes a bit of time

as a new player the best investment you can get is a Balenos Fishing Rod from marketplace, pop that on and AFK Fish in Heidel while you sleep (remember to click the check mark to toss trash items)

next advice is controversial, but i suggest selling everything you come across in the beginning to get enough silver for gear upgrades faster, that includes Ancient Relic Shards from afk fishing, black stones, memory fragments and even hard and sharp crystal shards, you'll be needing all that shit later when you start enhancing, but right now it's useless to you and i'd rather get decently geared faster than stock up for something you won't do in a long time still

Scrolls in a Forbidden Language make Pila Fe Scrolls

All of them give you memory fragments and hunter seals and a good bit of money. Relic shards give the least (but still substantial meme frag) reward, and Pila Fe give the most. You can save up 5 and solo them or save up tons and do them in a group for more $$.

Reference: I made 122.5 million from 15 Pila Fe in a full party.

Melee/Ranged, High Mobility or no preference, something that relies on animation canceling, male/female (classes are race locked in this game), do you care if the class is overpowered or not, PVE/PVP focus.

Remember that after level 56 the class changes completely. Look up some videos of a class awakening or some level 60 of that class grinding in a spot like Pila Ku. Usually gives you a general idea of how the class is going to play.

Just starting out. Not sure about servers. I assume it works like most MMOs, where you select a server, and your character is exclusive to that server, right?

What advice would you give someone wanting to join a server that is alive, but not completely full (such as Balmung on FFXIV). I just really don't want to join a server that's dead or dying.
