We would be better off just becoming /dsg/ - Souls-like General. DeS and DaS basically started their own genre, and there are a lot of games coming out in it, but that can't support their own gen for extended periods of time, such as Nioh.

Does Dark souls 2 change anything about the enemy's pattern/AI if you go online?

I recently started playing it, I did so offline but then got online as soon as I could and it feels odd because my shots sometimes seem to not connect even if I am in front of them (no clang, nothing as getting air).
And the enemy's tracking too seems a bit too accurate now.
Maybe is just cause I was used to DK1?

The high point of my experience with DS3 was when I beat Iudex. DS2 had a problem where a lot of the bosses were overgrown knights, and it was nice to see that be subverted when he transformed into a snek abomination thing. After that I just got saltier and saltier finding more and more "remember this?" stuff.

Which zone is best to start with in DK2? I tried going to forest of the giants but it seems an endless walk filled with nothing but trashy mob that keep following you, it seems it was made just for padding, like the infinite random encounters you had in all JRPG for around 20 years, ah, maybe that explains why enemies respawn when using the bonfire.

And she's also vulnerable to backstabs after she does a smash attack.

I always found pretty neat undead wanted to follow the wolf knight, showed that some would fight the dark rather then let way of white solve things. Besides the only pandering that's kinda bad is "maybe" siegemyer, Anorlondo based on the exact area just being swapped with no buildings. Andre and that's about it for me, other anons can claim the "Remeber Guies XD" shit on locations but I can't see it most of the time. AoA is bigger but less visually appealing fishing hamlet so it's ok(kinda dull still)
And the ringed city and dreg heap are a fine addition to the series.

-New weapon types like murkrets or a medievil bazooka and you can take cover for things that are shoot back at you
-Parts where you have to run away from a huge enemy and the huge boss chases you to a turrent and you use it to kill him

-When someone invades it asks you if it's ok and if you press no then they are sent away
-You can go into peoples houses and talk to them
-If you get hit then dont get hit for a while your health comes back
-You can have a romance with someone and even it can be a man if you are a gay
-Better support like map packs for arena and new weapons and amrour or better versions of weapons and armour in the game
-Moderators chosen from popular members of the community, they will monitor for poor sportsmanship and ban those they feel are a negative influence on the community & metagame
-Some people need you to get things so you can go get them and bring them back and they give you souls or items
-You can get a pet and they go around and find items for you and secrets so you dont have to search around so much
-You can do a crafting if you gather enough materials or you can buy the materials for money

As far as helmets go, if you aren't hollowed try the chain helmet. Goes well with most armor sets and looks nice. There's also the option of just using the helmet anyways. Lothric Knight looks good with most things, in my opinon.

It's fairly straightforward in principle, I think, especially when you look back on the early games that really put Souls on the map. You need levels that have shortcuts rather than checkpoints, where enemies wait in ambushes and there's multiple ways to get around and multiple ways to tackle challenges, but you have limited resources to get you from one real checkpoint (bonfire) to the next. Ideally you allow the player to explore many different areas, even if they go there "too early;" in that sense you should prioritize a touch of verisimilitude over what's generally considered good game design in that you should allow players to go up against things they could never possibly beat, and just hope that they're smart enough to try later rather than assuming you're a shit developer and quitting the game.

Other important things are avoiding cutscenes wherever possible, simplistic controls (and abilities), allowing the player to create their own character, and never having QTEs. Basically, try to avoid instances where the player loses access to their normal abilities or has to fight the controls to do what they want. R1 is always "swings weapon," and players should have the option to do it as close to always as possible.

You need the stamina mechanic as well and a stat-building aspect.

I think it's really not different from making a Legend of Zelda clone, what's different about Souls in particular is the existential tone, the obscure mechanics, and the punishing difficulty (in that if you make a bad decision, the game does not hesitate to punish you). I think though if you wanted to make a happy-go-lucky Soulslike you probably could, and if you wanted to make one that's more action-y or less action-y that would still work as long as you kept the things above.

To elaborate further, in Dark Souls 3 "hyper armor" often refers to "super armor" which is essentially the same, unstaggerability during an attack animation except your super armor has health which is determined by your poise value and the weapons you and the party you're trading hits with are using.

So:
Hyper armor means that flat out can't be staggered out of an attack unless killed.

Super armor means an attack gives you protection against being knocked out of an attack animation but it has it's own "health"

i also found the irythil knight curved sword with min requirement stats really good in the early game but it fell off hard the further i got in the game

Choose whatever Chasm is easiest for you to run through, to start with. The Chasm itself will get easier depending on your number of tries, up to the point that the enemies will stop respawning and I can vouch, this actually happened to me
As for the actual fight, do not let up in the first phase, and wail on him as he transforms. When there's two of them, it's more or less a hit and run fight. Getting greedy will kill you, as always, but be sure to stack as much Dark defense as you can, and try to consistently deal Lightning damage, Darklurker has a slight weakness to it.

I don't play DeS

DaS1 :
I parry all the time, especially since parrying even with medium shields is really easy. Back when I still did co-op in DaS1, I used to go and practice barehanded parrying by just parrying the Silver Knights in Anor Londo repeatedly.

DaS2 :
I don't like parrying in ds2 because it feels less reliable for some reason.

Bloodborne :
I definitely like parrying in BB especially if I have the Oedon Writhe and Heir runes. Parrying bosses is often the intended way of making them more tolerable.

DaS3:
I do like parrying, it feels very rewarding when you pull off a parry against something like a Lothric Knight or a boss. A couple of days ago I did Champ the first time ever on PS4 on one try by parrying his ass to oblivion for the first phase as a revenge for him bullying me in the PC version.
