he has good pokes and solid confirms off lights, and his execution is generally straightforward except for the really high level stuff in kof13 like twirl cancels

team order is usually a matter of how the character uses meter, if they dont need meter to do well and they build it then stick them on point, and if they have explosive potential with lots of bars stick them on anchor

Melty and UNIEL have awful net code on steam. CCCaster used for the pirated one, it vastly superior. The ports themselves are solid. If it's for locals only then you wouldn't need to worry.

Here's an interesting discovery I'm sure some people would know.

So I downloaded that SF3 training mode add-on for fightcade, then after that is all setup, I then start up another process of fightcade running Super Street Fighter 2 turbo (with cheats to enable training).

So I'm playing as Ken on both of them, in a sort of training mode and I notice something interesting.

I first figure out how to shoryuken with my stick. I get the motion down in SF3 first pretty simple right? (turns out I needed to get the rhythm right in the motion. Tap de de Tap de. but also drag it into the corner more. Like a almost sort of
triangle motion leaned into the right to the corner of the square gate but then tilted up just a bit. The Z motion doesn't work so well I have found. You have to be deliberate vs a hadouken but not too deliberate)

Here's what I discover. I have both games running simultaneously and here's the thing:

I'm shorukening every time on SF3 but on SF2 I'm still hadoukening.
So I stop after a bit and do the motion again and then time I just stop the stick a little before at the end and I'm doing a shoryuken on both.

Turns out SF3 gives you quite a bit extra slack on inputs, whereas with SF2 you have to be absolutely bang-on and not overshoot. If you overshoot you get a hadouken. If you undershoot you just get a jab.

So if you want to practice those inputs and be precise then maybe SF2 is better to practice with overall for these motions.

Tekekn doesn't do stuff like that though since hitboxes are always factored in. If you have a move that avoids lows but you are massive as fuck it will still hit. VF is the game that "as "moves that will always do x no matter what"

That's how Gigas boxes is a thing and evading in the right way but still get hit.

Strongly disagree. Buttons have some advantages. Binary states mean more precise inputs. Dash for example has no need to return to neutral you just hit the button twice. You can't get that wrong.

Similarly, tiger knee is really simple. Also, you can do frame perfect DP motion out of block (at least in SFV haven't tried it in GG) by just holding DB and tapping forward twice.

Button inputs are great.

the thing is nobody experienced with stick has any trouble with that, and you will run into big consistency issues in any game without a really lenient input parser, you trade a tiny bit of practice on stick for tons of consistency practice on buttons just for some gimmicks you can only use in a few games

and you can say tking stuff is easier but wait until you need to manually time one and can't buffer it as fast as possible, you won't hold that opinion anymore

there's also the point where small timing errors can easily turn into massive input errors, esp. when the up diagonals are involved, you'll get crazy directions out of slightly mistiming a button roll under pressure on something that would be impossible to mess up on stick

when you play on adrenaline your fine motor skills get a lot worse, so if you have never played in a serious tournament setting trust me that your estimation of input accuracy is vastly exaggerated, this is less of a problem on stick since you use larger motions and can even gateride if you're really having trouble
