Kongo is my first attempt at playing in Africa and I'm only doing it for the African Power achievement.
So far its fine. Kongo gets a special event chain to convert to christianity which is neat, but the whole institutions thing has me perpetually at 50% tech penalty until I pump enough points into my provinces for the bar to fill.

Description:
At first glance "Nahoj" appears to be an upside down digital image of a relatively famous video game developer known as "Johan Andersson" (currently employed by a videogame company known as "Paradox"). However this image is a paranormal entity with a surprisingly dangerous potential.

Behaviour:
When stored inside digital devices, "Nahoj" will always attempt to multiply itself and send those copies to other digital devices ("worm" behaviour). It will do so in a highly intelligent manner by transfering itself to any device capable of file storage, "injecting" itself in certain recently acquired files (in hope that these files will be shared?) and by attempting to transfer itself directly through any network its' current host is connected to.

"Antivirus", "firewall", "antispyware" and "antimalware" type programs can detect and/or block "Nahoj" actions, but they can never detect "Nahoj" as a suspicious file. "Nahoj" activity is reduced when such programs are installed in its' host.

If the "infected" digital device possesses no software or the digital device is not active, "Nahoj" will stay dormant.

Danger:
If the device "Nahoj" is currently stored in somehow attempts (or has already attempted) to download or install or modify a program developed or licensed by "Paradox" in that breeches or ignores the EULA, "Nahoj" will spontaneously transform into "Nahoj-Alpha".

"Nahoj-Alpha" is a "ransomware" type program. It will completely render the digital device it attacked unusable. "Nahoj-Alpha" will not attempt to do the same to other devices connected to it, though it will continue making and transfering copies of "Nahoj". "Nahoj-Alpha" will demand from the user to buy the exact program(s) that was previously attempted to be acquired via shady means. If the user accepts, "Nahoj-Alpha" will go back into its' original form. "Nahoj" can cause short-term emotional distress when its' image is stared for more than 5 minutes by humans, such as stress, a feeling of dread and nightmares. Animals do not appear to be specially affected by viewing "Nahoj".

"Nahoj-Alpha" is the OS (Operative System) of your device itself, "possessed" by the entity.

"Nahoj" entities size has been detected from as small as 1KB to as large as 1MB. It usually does not significantly affect the performance of the device it is stored in, making it very difficult to be detected.

"Nahoj" can be found in seemingly any type of file.

"Nahoj" is considered a paranormal entity and not a mere computer virus.

While all "Nahoj" files are an upside down depiction of "Johan Andersson", not all upside down depictions of "Johan Andersson" are "Nahoj".

"Nahoj" files cannot be deleted by any type of normal means. Only current known way to delete "Nahoj" is to damage/destroy the area of the digital device that it is stored in.

Darkest hour just werks™. The main thing about DH is that the AI is actually fucking competent unlike HoI4, and can manage multiple fronts and the occasional naval landing. The difference between DH and HoI4 KR is pretty noticeable, mostly because you don't have to deal with the absolutely horrible peace conference system.

I've found that it partially depends upon the game, but the two most critical elements are writing ability (which includes vocabulary) and style. Not everyone will try to write AARs in the same style that I do, and that's alright. It's really more about what works for you, and that boils down to posts and posting styles that work well with the types of images you take of your game, and the amount of time you have to dedicate to a serious AAR. The less time you have the more general your posts will need to be, while the more images you have the less specific they need to be (although you can always work to keep them long and detailed if you want to).

As I said, though, writing ability is the most critical, and that can't really be taught. If you want a quick boost to the quality of your work, though, I would recommend period research when possible. For my AARs I usually don't research very seriously, just period knowledge I already have and Wikipedia searches, but it's enough to put real people and positions into the narrative and give a sense of realism which is beyond that which I can create on my own.

When Campbell’s genocidal rage becomes known in Moscow, Trotsky immediately and formally withdraws himself from the International, and even goes to the further and unprecedented step of allowing the Xuantong Emperor amnesty in the Soviet state, if he decides to abdicate. Trotsky suggests this strongly, as it will not only save his life but quite probably the lives of many of his people, as Campbell will not know how to proceed following the breakdown of dynastic power within China.

Accordingly, on November 17th, 1924, the Xuantong Emperor abdicates without even informing Campbell of his intent, taking his entire family across the border into Soviet Jinzhou, and exile. Pu Yi’s exile leaves the Qing state with no successor and no government, and the collapse of central authority threatens to shear the entire state apart within the first hours of its announcement.

An enraged Campbell, so furious that it is reported that he personally whips several men for minor infractions, is forced to make a deal with the eunuchs in Beijing in order to retain the semblance of a successful campaign. They do not understand what communism is, and a flustered Campbell orders them to simply take stewardship of the state until “the next leader” comes. They take this to mean that there will be a Qing restoration, and form a “Heavenly Council” for the new Emperor, not understanding that a new Great Qing will never come. Campbell tells them to focus on industrial production and give many rights to laborers, which they all nod and promise they shall, only, of course, never to do any such thing.

After establishing a few halfhearted centers for communist education in the countryside and making a few meager efforts to reorganize wealth in the capital, Campbell prepares to leave China. “A victorious war that is a lost peace,” Mosley was heard to criticize, “lost by a man who does not even understand what an internationalist peace should look like.”

For such is his intent: Trotsky, Semard, and finally Thälmann will all be defeated by the Worker’s Army and forced back into union with the International, under Campbell’s command.

Conditions in Japan following the declaration of the Second German-Soviet War had become hellish. Although the Commonwealth was able to secure a major victory against the Japanese at Urawa that stabilized the front near Tokyo, the battered forces which had participated in Urawa were forced to retreat to Tokyo for reinforcements following the victory, and the Urawa heights could not be secured. With Japanese forces attacking at Yokohama and Mito, with Mito under serious threat of collapsing, the situation appeared grim to Campbell. Nevertheless, he was unwilling to surrender while the Japanese capital had been secured.

“We need only,” he continued to say, “fight through to one more victory against the Japanese and their government will fall, and the Worker’s Army can return to Britain in glory, to crush the traitor Thälmann and set all to rights.” It was an idealized, impossibly rosy picture from the outset.

Nevertheless, it was decided that, after a few days of rest in Tokyo, efforts would be made to recapture the Urawa Heights, and to bring the war in Japan to a successful conclusion. The International forces fighting Germany would have to wait.

Or, at least, that was what Campbell ordered.

A long-planned coup, initiated by Mosley and his loyalists but under the auspices of General Grenfell, who has had more than enough of Campbell’s dystopia, seizes control of the government after a few short hours of street-to-street fighting. “Overzealous officials, repressive elements, and Campbell loyalists” within the Worker’s Parliament, Scotland Yard, and military forces still in Britain are rounded up and tried; the Worker’s Cabinet is restored, and the Commonwealth pledges itself and its allies to the war against Germany.

“We lit the fire of international communism here in Britain, and although those embers have burned low, they cannot be extinguished,” Mosley cries to a crowd gathered around Westminster. “We are still the first communists, the most selfless warriors, the truest captains of industry. We are still first among the equals, or we should be. The chaos now engulfing Europe has been wrought from our failure to take our proper and necessary place at the head of the International, the body which with our labor we created, nurtured, and grew. It is being threatened, now, by nationalism in the guise of socialism, by power and ambition, but it is still there. The embers still burn! It is ours, and we need do naught more than extend our hands to retake it for the people of this globe: internationalism, benevolence, and freedom from chains. We will take it, because we must take it!”
