Yeah, the whole battle fucked Ven up and he's been spending 10+ years recuperating, but I don't see why there seems to be this prevalent idea that outside of Xehanort fucking with it again, that Vanitas is just lurking about the corner waiting to pop out at a moment's notice. Or that he's been just hovering the background this whole time when Ven's been on sabbatical this whole time. The Ultimania passage doesn't really seem like Vanitas is being a conscious entity as fo now.

The Kingdom Key, meanwhile, is still a sentient creature, choosing its master, and is actually not Sora's final Keyblade.

So in the end of KH3, once all the pieces are in play, and Sora is finally uncluttered, he'll be able to summon his own Keyblade, as the Kingdom Key says goodbye to him.

Keyblade potential can be granted by interaction with Keyblade Wielders. Kairi can wield because of her heart's time as part of Sora's, who had his potential from his time with Ventus. They can be given as inheritance to others, as how Aqua has Eraqus's Keyblade. Also, when you die, a Keyblade doesn't just vanish, it's sort of the memento of what you were. Whether to be picked up again by a revived person, or inherited by a successor. The Graveyard is Keyblade Warriors who fell without a successor, so their keys lay in the dirt to rust.

the Kingdom Key in general is interesting to think about especially after seeing that the x-Blade is visually made from two of them. very clearly it's kind of a default design for keyblades, but it isn't the only default one so having the Kingdom Key right away has to be very significant. on a purely visually level it makes sense for Sora, who has a crown necklace, to wield a weapon with the name Kingdom Key. of course Riku had it too but eh. the actual keychain being Mickey is also weird now.

Alright I'm reluctantly going back into playing DDD after a trial run of it when 2.8HD came out and hated how much it felt like "Flow Motion: The Game"
What am I in for when it comes to playing it, agony of nothing but flow motion that feels clunky to me or is there something more.

You only have to use Flowmotion if you want to. It's not even like, a large part of the gameplay. It's totally ancillary.

Aside from some rail grinding it's never required to make it through the game.
You'll need it to find some chests though.

It's really not that clunky though. Maybe you just need to get used to it. I think it's pretty fun chaining into Flowmotion to gain better distance in combat or crowd control with some of the attacks.

Also yeah Riku's abilities in this game are actually closer to Aqua, he even gets a double jump and sfere block.

Far as the main quests go, they're actually pretty easy.

Bosses aside, I could make it through the most recent story quests with some shit medals from like a year ago.

Then, y'know, each premium draw now has guaranteed premiums, so every draw you do will get you something good guaranteed. And a lot of premiums can fucking carry you as far as main quests are concerned.
