They should just drop the pretense and remove CI entirely. Some guy in the beta forum said it perfectly: ES is like armor, it's secondary defense, so it makes sense with the way it works, you trade mitigation for a larger buffer, but with CI all that goes out the window, suddenly ES is your PRIMARY defense and now it's either broken or total shit depending on whether or not you can make it work or not.

As soon as you can survive with just ES, having 1 health is not a downside anymore.

Two hand weapon is currently the best right now, especially for league starter. Slayer is insanely strong. If you don't like Two hand weapon then you can also go for Lacerate Gladiator. They are cheap and good league starter. Varunastra dual wield is also budget and quite viable

varun is good because you pick up the sword/dagger/claw node and have effectively picked up 3 damage wheels for the price of one, and then can go grab the sword/axe node and get another twofer

It allows you to actually use a shield and not have godawful fucking damage at the cost of some attack speed since the weapon itself has none. Pretty much exclusively good for Gladiator.

You're on the top side of the tree. Don't expect to ever have super high life totals as pure life up there. You just don't have the base strength from pathing through nodes on your tree. Go ES based instead.

Life builds should have at a absolute minimum of 180% Life from tree, %Life on every single jewel, and Life on every gear slot, can get away with dropping one life roll. Doing this as a crit caster is impossible.

Stop using a Tabula. You're playing a 4 month old league. Go pickup a white 6 link for cheap and drop a max tier Essence of Greed/Woe(Life/ES respectively) on it and master craft a resist. Infinitely superior to Tabula. Same for a lot of your gear. Skin of the Loyal is also an option.

Fix your resists. Even having 50% resistance is still taking x2 damage when the game is balanced around 75%.
