I'm not really a pve raider, so I'm not entirely sure what is in demand and what isn't. With gw2 tho there's not a huge divide between dps/tank/healer - they tried to get rid of that triangle. You should be fine playing dps once you learn w/e rotations are needed and the way some boss fights work and such.
