It's hard to see through the nostalgia to how much was the game and how much was the timing. The timing was VERY important. I remember seeing a piece on it in Newsweek of all things and seeing those images of a 3D world (pre-rendered, mostly but we didn't care) was like nothing I'd ever seen before and it was pure mystique. I was already a big fan of the series, mind you, in fact chose PSX over N64 EXCLUSIVELY over PSX getting Final Fantasy (though getting Megaman didn't hurt). The dinky little 10-poly plastic board game piece map models were always ripe for criticism, but back then the pre-rendered maps and the battle models looked great and the FMV cut-scenes? Possibly the first of its kind.

All that stuff has, of course, aged like milk, but there's still a great atmosphere and a... so-so story behind all the rust. Some fine characters and character moments, but I can't say I got much out of the paramilitary and evil scientists disturbing ancient powers while a psychotic murderer goes around doing stuff junk. Some great sequences, though. The escape from Midgard sequence, the launching of the Highwind, the Gold Saucer, the Weapon attacks. But it's hard to say whether they were legit awesome moments or if they just stood out because how spectacular the cut-scenes and presentation were at the time.

A lot of what it did right about a web of character arcs, many hidden behind the exploration of an extremely open world, FF6 had already done better, but it still did them quite well.

So in short, the early 3D era is a particular era where it's hard to separate nostalgia from quality (and not just because of my age; I'm probably a bit older than most who consider that "their era", but because there were SO MANY fledgling technologies and techniques that didn't really work too well). Maybe a new player would be a better judge than I.

Will I buy the remake? Eh.

BE isn't like RK where you can just use a character's own equips and have them be basically the best they can be. To make something Best in Slot in BE requires months of autism and grinding, and oftentimes you need event limited gear to pull it off.
Getting a team of 5 Vaynes is the easy part. Gearing them 100% perfectly is probably next to impossible without dedication now.

If you don't start now, you could potentially be a fraud again (and there'd be no way to change it from there).

BE plays fast and loose with a lot of its rules; for a little bit two Edgars and a single Kefka could one-shot virtually any boss. If Vayne is good at chaining, you'll be able to get quite far.

Perfect team in BE means that he synergizes well wih the other units, by either having good support moves (be it breaks, buffs or statuses) a good chaining move or a good finishing move.

Plus you'd be missing TONS of event unique equipment/materiae that coud be extremely useful if not vital to your team (if not any player in general).
Not rerolling/starting now would be a huge mistake and a missed opportunity that ill befits a True Supporter of the True Hero, especially considering how shitty Gumi is normally.

The problem is you need both chance and time.
TMRs are almost never directly outclassed. You can count the number of times that's happened on one hand.

And many event gears havent been powercrept even in JP. Even by TMRs.
It's part of Alim/Gumi's game to keep you playing, since you can't miss events.

Getting Vayne and his buddies will be the easy part, that's only 5 units at most.
Gearing them will require numerous TMs, many of which are already available to reroll for (and are never outclassed).

If I can have multiple instances running then the effectiveness of rerolling goes up significantly, to the point where it's nearly impossible that starting now would be better.

You can get scores of 4* tickets, hundreds of standard tickets, and tens of thousands of lapis by the time that banner hits. They are extremely common now that 4* bases are the new 3* bases.
To get them, you just have to log in a lot (daily rewards) and grind the mogkings. Very few are held behind trial bosses (the only hard content).

You can still reroll, but each account is only given 5ish pulls, which makes it very tough. Even if we give you a generous 7 rolls per account, your odds of success are less than .0001% (my calculator doesn't even go out far enough, it could be even lower than that).

So that means you need an average of over one million rerolls to get what you want in the best scenario. 1,000,000. One million. Probably more, but I don't have a supercomputer to calculate it out to more places.
Let's say you have two computers running 3 instances each, and that each reroll takes 15 minutes.

That's only 4,032 rerolls in a week. You would need to have the banner open for 4.77 years to hit the required rerolls ON AVERAGE.

Priority should be on getting a holy attack in as the first action you do. Affliction Break and astra/status blink SBs can help if you have them. The most important thing is keeping track of turns so Goddess form doesn't fuck you up while in mid-cast of regular attacks

Eh, depending on the team setup, fitting in imperil fire might not be so easy.
He's only going to be hitting 92k at most when using Dark Bargain/Hailstorm/Vessel of Fate/Shout (or Blessing of Light). His third OSB ended up hitting 58k after the second dispel for some reason - stacking attack debuff SBs were renewed, but DB/HS were used on his prior two turns.
Would reckon that +fire boosting armor and weapons would be nice for him. Wouldn't know though as I have none under VI synergy, let alone a synergy weapon stronger than his OSB katana. With the stat drops, non-synergy elemental boost relics might not be worth it over using a synergy 4*+++ Red Jacket.
This is all without his own EnFire SB too, although it probably isn't a good idea to waste it on Jump Start with the above shit active. Would reckon that could probably be the RW if desired, which can take away from something vital depending on team comp.
