The japs tend to be pretty lenient on references to other works as long as it isn't a blatant namedrop. It's why Garf***d isn't actually named Garfield in the game.

Most of the ancestors/archangels do not even appear

Heavenly Knights are mostly cameo tier to remind you they're in this series

2/3 Shikibuses still haven't joined which will inevitably be another quest/event thing that happens

Alice's mom appears once and then dies offscreen

Tartarus was barely explored in Part 2 so there's inevitably going to be a shit ton more of that in Part 3

And then have super God Black Alice as the big bad apparent

There's other stuff but really there's just too much shit to not take longer than Part 1&2 unless Torotoro works harder or works faster. Especially if he is going to still do shit like 50 side projects and make it so that the Ilias and Alice routes diverge even more.

I just think it's hilarious that before Paradox Part 1's release we had so many reveals for shit like the Ancestors and Archangels and then it's going to end up that we don't even get to see let alone recruit most of these characters until near the end of part 3 in all likelihood.

They could've done that without having you hunt down the queens after defending the cities. If they had compressed that into a single part maybe we would've had time to go to Helgondo and then you could end the game with Alice/Ilias becoming adults again.

Also the fact that the orbs have huge overlap with what I originally thought were sidequests further compresses the game. It means way less of the game was an optional quest than I had originally thought which makes it feel even shorter and less fun.

I think it's fine to revisit old characters but with paradox part 2 I wanted it to actually start getting into new shit. Especially when Part 1 ends on the "Here's where our big adventure truly begins" note and then ends up being "And now run around and get stone walled everytime you get close to finally making it to Helgondo"

I think you're being a bit obsessive about having the story focus on a specific set of characters. If the story is close to completion after gathering all six orbs, then in terms of story content, Part 2 has been satisfying. I want to see the world and how it differs from the setting we knew, anon. Ilias alone has already gone through a lot of character development by the time of Part 2's ending, and the other characters get fleshed out a lot more. Nothing deep and emotional like Ilias, but they've gotten more character. Alma Elma herself seems a lot more personable too, with her and Granberia seemingly trading places in the position they hold in the narrative (with you interacting with Alma Elma more often and attaining a somewhat more intimate connection as a result).

Why wouldn't now (Part 2) be a good time to explore these characters we already knew before diving headlong into interacting with new characters and factions in full? Going on and on about how we barely saw Morrigan and the rest; they've been rather heavily involved in the background all this time, have they? The Six Ancestors with the war, then Alice XV Black Alice with the monster conflicts. We've gotten a suitable taste of them, for the kind of attention that's been placed on all the other existing characters we get in exchange.

The problem is that you're only viewing the story from Ilias' satisfaction. Which is normal because the Snow Continent + ending shit actually have a lot of weight for her.

For Part 2 to be relevant in any way for Alice she needed to get to Helgondo and that didn't happen.

I agree with this. Look, I don't have any problem with reusing all the stuff from the VN in this one (though some monster girls seriously needed new HCG, looking at you Queen Elf and Fairy). But the process of going through everything was a pain, due to:

- It's repetitive as you mostly do the same thing.
- For the 4 queens, you don't have quick access to their location, and only Queen Vampire dungeon was not boring.
- Only the orb that makes you go to Remina was interesting, the rest was personally not really fun to play.
- Same in order to access the snow continent, no fast access and the dungeon was boring except the part with the white bears.

Honestly, IMO they should have given us the bird in Part 2, but not let us access Hellgondo for some reason until we finished with the snow continent, and block the snow continent for the same reasons. That would have made the process of reaching the queens less annoying. Also design better dungeons that are not insanely confusing, it's obvious they gave up on dungeon design on that part.

The fact that you get sea travel for the open ocean and then all it ends up being used for is a vehicle to reach the 3 queen dungeons located out there is pretty annoying.

I just wish the story went one step further. The way it ends just feels like total blue balls because as soon as you go into that Succubus Village Tartarus the entire game just becomes "How do we fill time to keep the player from reaching Hellgondo by the end of this part"

For me the highlight of this part was Emily/Cassandra and the Luddite Village Succubus Village crossover. Other than that I feel like things went downhill after the Lilith fight. I just expected a little bit more after Part 1, everyone knew we would get Queen tier monsters with part 2 and that's really all we ended up getting.

So if I'm translating the ending right so far:

- Illias dying in the original trilogy's is ultimately what started the Paradox world's creation.
- Companion Illias is FROM the original trilogy but she is just a fragment of that Illias, which is why she lacks her powers.
- The Paradox world Illias was sealed away by White Rabbit because she is the core of what causes Chaos to spread in the Paradox world (she is not meant to exist anymore due to the original Illias dying).
- With Illias "dead" in the original timeline AND Paradox Illias sealed away, this altered the Paradox world and meant that the slaughter at Remina did not occur.
- With no massacre, the scientists were able to conduct their holy fusion experiment successfully. Using Heinrich's sword as a medium, they caused the Great Disaster 30 years ago.
- The scientists summoned Black Alice from the original trilogy after she "died". This was because Heinrich's sword had her blood on it so her DNA acted like a "pointer" to lead her into this world.

Continuing on from my post (again with the caveat that this MAY NOT be a 100% correct translation):

- The main Paradox world is the one that we play in. This is the core world that leads to other parallel universes.
- As I mentioned in my last post, the core Paradox world was created the moment Illias from the original trilogy was killed by Luka.
- Whatever happens in this world will lead to ripple effects in other worlds. So if someone important dies in the core Paradox world for example, then that person will also cease to be apart of the "true history" in all other worlds (though I'm 50/50 on this one as the wording used in the line is a bit confusing).
- As a result, White Rabbit sealed away both Paradox Illias and Eden in order to protect them while using a Time Stop barrier to hold back Chaosisation from spreading out of Remina.
- Regardless of whichever heroine that Luka picked, because they eventually break the seal placed on Paradox Eden, they also inadvertently broke the barrier that was stopping Chaosisation.
- As a result, Paradox Illias had to be killed after Astaroth and the other Lilith Sisters finally found her.
- Her death stops Chaosisation from spreading immediately.
- But the damage has been done. Because the Lilith Sisters are Third-Class Prohibited Cross-World Contacts who interfered with someone's existence in this world (they are not allowed to kill anyone directly), Sonya begins losing it.
- To make matters worse, the Sisters begin fighting with the newly arrived Archangels.
- She starts saying "ダメ……やめて……" (Stop...don't...) and then "言ってるでしょ、ダメだって…… こんな戦い、やめて……" (I told you, to stop already...stop fighting...)

- Her hidden Apoptosis persona activates. She gradually transforms into her Apoptosis form and starts absorbing energy from whichever character that was near her (Morrigan if Illias was picked, Gnosis if Alice was picked).
- Transforms into her Mainyu (or Mazda) form and prepares to attack everyone.
- After she's beaten by Luka & co. she begins "downloading" Adramelech because she needs reinforcements.
- Archangels and Sisters team up to fight Adramelech, while Sonya transforms into her Chaos form. She begins eroding the entire area around her into Chaos.
- Luka & co. fight her and finally beat her down. But Adramelech is too powerful, and simply revives herself even after the combined barrage of attacks from the Sisters/Archangels.
- Adramelech powers herself up, causing Chaos erosion to spread even faster. Gnosis estimates 15 minutes before the core Paradox world is consumed.
- The Sisters (or Archangels if you picked Alice) teleport away, leaving the other side behind.
- Sonya regains her senses and manages to stop Adramelech from powering up by piercing into her.
- They begin fighting. It's clear at this point that Sonya and Adramelech are related in some way (Adra's portrait is very different to her regular one; her right human eye shows for starters).

It makes more sense for Hellgondo to be saved for Part 3 though, because the Illias Temple revelation makes the whole situation a lot more relevant now that we know companion Illias plays a significant part in the Paradox crisis to begin with.

Alice on the other hand...what importance does she have in Part 2 that would make Hellgondo vital to show? There is literally no reason for the same events of the original trilogy's Chapter 2 to happen as she doesn't hate humanity like her original counterpart, nor is Paradox Illias around ordering Luka to kill her.

It seems like both Sonya and IIias, shortstack edition play a very significant role. Since Nuruko is the spirit of chaos, what's the spirit of order? Couldn't in theory, IIias be changed into the spirit of order instead of being the reigning goddess she once was? All that is required of her is her existence as without IIias there is no heaven, angels are completely lost and chaos runs rampant, just like how Sylph,Gnome,Undine and Salamander must exist or the world's elements get so unstable the world would implode on itself. It seems like the perfect solution to spare IIias's life and sooth those who wouldn't want her back with the power she held before.

How? Illias' personality was molded by her extreme cosmic powers and her role as a god. You foster change for her by just removing those elements.
The same isn't true for Alice though. She is still who she is even without her powers and resources. Taking away her tragic backstory shifts things a little bit, but ultimately she's still the same person in the end.

I don't fucking know, ask TT why the fuck they made Alice almost exactly the same despite several key elements in her backstory being notably different. The potential for her to at least act somewhat differently was there, but TT wasted the opportunity. I sure as hell would personally love to see a version of Alice consumed by hatred and malice like what happened with Black Alice myself since that's something Tamamo tried so damn hard to prevent in the main trilogy, but that's what I think would be most fun to see the game play out with her like that rather than just having her trilogy personality copy-pasted to an alternate version where it makes no damn sense.
