I only have four points of beef against Centurion:

1) His uncharged heavies are tad too fast for heavy attacks.

2) His parry punishes off of even a heavy are a little extreme.

3) His tracking/hitbox for his punches can seriously fuck over bigger characters, as dodging his flurry as a Lawbringer/Shugoki/Warlord is a crapshoot sometimes.

4) Fighting more than one Centurion is AIDS incarnate.

I don't want him totally gutted or anything, considering he has a heinously low health pool, but I do want to see him in the workshop for a bit.

I've seen people kill 3-5 minions using heavy attacks on raider, lawbringer, but whenever I try to do It, I only kill 1 minion and hell, usually doing heavy attacks I get pushed back instead of going forward and mowing everyone down.

A lot. Getting to rep 7, primarily doing orders and Dominion matches as a single character, takes a few weeks from my experience. The gear system as is can best be described as "restrictive and grindy" and is one of the game's biggest faults.

Dealing a bonus 15% damage and taking 15% less damage is a pretty big deal, along with stuff like having your revives last longer and take 30% less bleed damage and stun duration. I think it's crazy that you literally cannot find good, usable gear until Rep 3 and the game doesn't even tell you before you start spending steel on crates and scavenging. Almost as if Ubisoft wanted people to remain uninformed on purpose so they would spend steel before they were meant to.

Oh shit when i hear that, it's always people with max gear attempting to play down its role when talking to people with less gear pretty much hoping that the person doesnt have geared characters themselves.
You don't use it to build for revenge anymore which is probably why they started saying this now but
19.5% extra damage is seriously good especially now that pretty much nobody builds defense because of def penetration and the uselessness of block damage so its always atleast secondary. stamina reduction can make it so when you are parried you most likely wont be exhausted even in teamfights and you can actually go through your chains. Exhaustion recovery is just fucking silly aswell, making it practically impossible to go into unblockable feint games with some characters.

You can basically just throw out infinite 60 (due to bonus damage) unblockables in the middle of clusterfuck team fights and at least one of them is bound to hit eventually. Even if you get parried your stamina comes back so quickly with a high Exhaustion Recovery that it doesn't matter.

The only people who claim "gear score doesn't matter ;)" are fucking liars who probably spent 20k steel to max out and min-max their favourite character to the point where they have the perfect mixture of stats. Since revenge is useless now, that normally means letting your revenge stats take a hit for the team so you can have maxed out Debuff Resistance and Exhaustion Recovery on your helmet, and + Defense on your shoulders so you can even out the - Defense from your helmet.

For anyone who isn't sure about stats at this point and is still reading this, I'll do a quick rundown:

Defense is a non-stat due to Defense Penetration. Keep it as close to 0 as humanly possible.

Exhaustion Recovery is super useful since it basically means you only have to spend the minimal amount of time in a vulnerable state. However, it can be considered "planning for failure" to put too much stock into it.

Debuff Resistance is super useful since it reduces basically ~everything~ in the game besides actual damage. Stun duration, bleed duration, how long guard breaks last, et cetera.

Stamina Cost Reduction is good utility, though as long as you don't get it negative you're fine.

Stamina Regen isn't that useful if you have a good Exhaustion Recovery stat since you'll come back with full stamina once your exhausted bar fills out anyway. As long as you keep it positive you're good.

Revenge duration and revenge defense are almost non-stats for anyone but Assassins with the feat that gives them revenge on attack.

Attack you should nearly always be putting as your primary or secondary stat. Doing -5% damage can be the difference between an attack killing or not.

Defense penetration is the most important stat in the game, since a lot of players just pump stats into defense. Have this as your primary stat on your blade for now.

Block damage is useless.

Execution Health Regen is useless in every mode, since in Elim/Skirmish you can just pick up a health buff or a shield and in Dominion you can heal with feats or on a point.

Revive speed is fucking amazing and can turn any battle in an instant. You'll want this to be primary or secondary.

Revenge gained and revenge attack are non-stats due to Revenge being fucking useless at the moment.

You don't wanna be taking extra damage, but even then it's really not that bad if you do. If you don't mind taking an extra 5% damage or so for huge buffs to stamina bonuses (those are what you should be going for over revenge bonuses) then it's definitely worth it. Just don't do something stupid like having -20% defense or something to get buffs into your revenge duration and defense.

Idea for ranked mode: give each character a separate rank.

You do your 20 placements, and you get your starting rank. After that, each of your characters rises or falls separately, so someone can be a Plat WL but also a Diamond Berserker or something.

People that only play top tiers will get high ranks in those characters, but they won't be able to pretend it means they're good at the game on a fundamental level, just that they know how to cheese. Meanwhile, people that rise with low tier characters can openly brag about it without people accusing them of gaining rank with PK or something.

Conqueror is a black hole of balance because his entire playstyle is contrary to everybody else in the game, even other Heavies. He doesn't go for parries, he only has one viable attack method, he can't feint (properly). The only way to make him "balanced" with the rest of the class would be to totally rework his entire design. I think it's weird how a character with a flail has no way to "get around" guards besides using his shield, even though the one advantage of a flail would probably have been to get around a guard. They may as well have just given him a war hammer, since the only attack he has that uses the flail thematically is the charged heavy... except not even that counts, because other characters have charged attacks too where they don't make sense.
