Project X Zone uses a "Rescue" system where you can burn a unit's resources/the shared meter (depending on the game) to revive a unit.

There's still shit like loss conditions that can easily invalidate that, and you can still die to wipes on enemy phase or just be generally resource screwed, but it's still nice to have and doesn't create a Casual/Classic rift.

Still, there's not that much of a Casual/Classic rift. Few people actually play Classic and the older games as Ironman runs, and those that do generally know they're in it specifically for a challenge.

Alright I'm being completely serious, I have been on countless forums across multiple sites and all I see constantly are people who are legitimately too scared to play pre-13 games. "Too hard", "bad game design", "punishing" etcetera.

And obviously they're retarded, so they get bitched at by pre-awakening fans and then they get indignant and fight back, creating a divide.

The majority of fire emblem players at the moment are unable to play the game strategically. Why do you think Phoenix mode exists?

Story is lost potential (more than Fates in my opinion, Fates would need to be completely rewritten from scratch while Awakening would be good to go with some tweaks), maps aren't Gaiden/SoV-bad but they're not very far off, gameplay balance is a complete mess.
But I have to admit, most of the cast did end up growing on me. Shit characters like Vaike and Ricken I never liked, while others like Donnel, Cordelia or Tharja I got tired of because of over-exposure to their rabid fans and the shitty memes created around them. But I really do like most of the cast these days.
The OST is pretty good, too. The recruitment theme is garbage and feels like the musical equivalent of a wet noodle compared to other recruitment themes from the series, but the rest ranges from decent to memorable.

I think Casual Mode needs to be balanced differently from the get-go. The difficulty of FE usually related to how you manage to balance what you want to do (I want to train up these units, I want to get that treasure chest) with what the stage requires of you (Kill the boss). If a unit dies while you try getting an item, that's your fault.

If units can't die, then you need to balance it another way, like making it so more battles result in 'limping across the finish line' because as long as you clear the objective, it doesn't matter that everyone apart from a few people got knocked out.

I'll have 20k orbs once this arena season ends so which of these units should I 5*?

My first option is +Atk/-Def Tharja as I don't have many good red units. I do have a +Spd Katarina, but Tharja is definetly superior thanks to Blades. I do not have an Eirika though.

My second option is +Atk Cherche as I do have fodder for Brave Axe+. My only other Axe user is Anna

My third option is a +Atk Klein as he's pretty strong, but I feel others are better. I do not have any other gray 5*

Mathilda, Silque, and Kliff are definitely characters I can agree on. Tatiana and Delthea, however... Nah. Both should go down a tier. Tatiana's Fortify is very useful, but she joins pretty late and she also doesn't have Recover. She's kinda redundant, too, if you already have Silque + cleric!Faye. As for Delthea, she joins somewhat late and underleveled. She's superior to her brother in almost every regard, but it takes a bit of time for her to catch up to everyone else. Also, she has no innate 3-range spells so she absolutely needs the Mage Ring.

Lukas has earlygame over Forsyth, and can probably promote by the time you get to the deliverance hideout. Getting to that Knight promotion ASAP is really important, especially if you want to use the fork on that unit, since the Knight class has such a good base attack and defense that can easily carry the unit in just about any class tree.
