Save your orbs for units you like, 100 orbs or so is the minimum to near guarantee a unit you want. Sometimes 150-200 is optimal.

Reroll for good 5* units, it's better than gambling and moving on. You want at minimum 1-2 good units.

The worst excesses started happening because of Rudolf purposely allowing them to happen because he wanted his people to get behind the idea of taking out the Duma Church and Duma. Before Jedah was in charge, Halcyon was and from what we can see he seems to be a good and honourable person. Tatiana is also a member of the Duma Church and so is Conrad. It's obvious, at the very least, that the Duma Church acting the way it was in Echoes was out of character. I didn't think the game was particularly well written, but I could atleast take that away.

It's not that Echoes was well written, it's that it's the best written 3DS game after the absolute shitfests that were Awakening and Fates. Even though the main plot points are generic and can be seen coming a mile away, it does them well enough to actually be considered a coherent, believable story.

Character designs are good, characters have actual personalties and backstories, it might not be a great FE game, as far as strategy and map design go, but it has enough in it to be a good game.

Personally, I prefer Genealogy and Old Mystery to Echoes, but Echoes is my favorite 3DS game.

Trying New Mystery on Hard after Echoes and I have the exact opposite problem: units can't dodge for shit and go down incredibly quickly. Archers and mages are now valuable for a completely different reason.

As for what to do with Archers in Echoes, just forge up their Iron Bow for better damage and accuracy until you have enough money to upgrade a steel/silver all the way to Killer Bow.

Glacies, Ignis and Dragon Fang are oddballs. On one hand they take a lot to charge, on the other the raw damage they inflict is often enough to kill stuff that you normallt couldn't, like enemies with high defenses on WTDisadvantage. They work well on braves.

Reprisal works well on glass cannons with Fury, like Nino or Anna. Vengance works well on units with high speed that are used to bait other units, like Tharja herself to bait Nino.
