Am I the only one who would like a "Hardcore Mode" for AC7? Just an alternative singleplayer with a bit more realism: Lower count but more accurate missiles, longer lock-on range, planes accelerate and climb slower, and having to actually apply Energy Fighter theory to the fights. Altitude and Speed are Energy. You can trade altitude for speed and vice versa. But having more altitude always trumps speed, which is why altitude is called your life insurance.

The idea behind energy fighting is to use up as little energy as possible and to go for enemies that have a lower energy state than you do. The term can be applied to just about any form of fighting, but it's easiest to explain with boom and zooming.
Which just means starting out at a higher altitude than your opponent, diving down on them and then climbing back up. Repeat until the enemy is dead. They won't really be able to fight back because they will have a much lower energy than you do.

There's more than enough videos on this because it's a pretty good tactic to use in WT and the like.

Pretty well. Frontseater handled the takeoff then handed off the control and I flew us to our next location. We did some acrobatics, flew back, and the pilot landed us. Only part I didn't enjoy was pulling negative Gs.

I'll admit I was somewhat nervous when the ground crew's first task was strapping a parachute on me and explaining how to open the canopy in case I needed to bail out.

I live that F-2A life, friends. Grew up near an airbase that had F-16's, loved that plane since childhood. The F-2A is a mid-range beast for AA. I know it's not really a true competitor to the F22/SU37 folks of the world, but whatever. I think the it looks badass and it has the that nostalgia to it for me.
