I really dislike Ana.
Not because of how she plays or because "granny" though that is indirectly a thing, but just how she sits in the lore of things. Jack and Gabe were opposites so it created a dynamic between them, then down the line she got shoehorned into the story of it and was basically turning it into a third wheel which was more on Jacks side.

Then there's the playing dead for a few years, basically becoming a criminal by stealing and attacking others, but when she returns EVERYONE is just so surprised and happy to jerk off the old bird and she's almost got a clean conscience about everything, even her own child who she disowned for years is over the moon with her being back. And the worst part is Pharah suffers as a character because of this, she was already pretty plain and not outstanding personality-wise, but the only time she shows some development is just by being an extension of Ana and being all happy to fight by her side, we're probably never going to see actual depth behind Pharah because she's just a piece to Ana's tale and they're set on keeping her relevant to the whole thing.

Ana is also constantly wanked as the GOAT everything. GOAT sniper who was better than McCree and would have beaten Widowmaker if she hadn't been surprised. Better commander than Jack and her only flaw was being too compassionate. She's also annoyingly cocky as fuck. Ana is a mary sue and she's just extremely tiresome. why do people say things like this? this isn't how statistics work at all. take for example, a coinflip. theoretically you have a 50% chance of getting heads or tails, meaning if you flip that coin a hundred times you should get 50 heads and 50 tails.
In reality, this isn't what happens, you could get all tails all 100 times. Flexing in comp doesn't help because this idea that you're increasing your chances of victory is imaginary, this idea that the enemy team is just as likely to get retards as you, is imaginary. It is entirely out of your control.
You can be that person who always gets good teammates and smashes through ranks, you can be that person who wins one then loses one or you can be that person who is unfortunate enough to get team retard consistently while the enemy gets half decent players.
The optimal way to climb ladder in the face of what is essentially hearthstone tier rng is to one trick and abuse the sr system to maximize gains and minimize losses.

I was playing a comp game yesterday and I had a really shitty player on my team trying to play some tank heros. Eventually he got frustrated from sucking so much that he switched to roadhog and I saw he had a legendary and golden gun for him. I looked on his profile and he was like 600 SR below his season high and he was complaining about being on a losing streak. The roadshit nerf has been the best thing blizzard has done for competitive in a while.

Here is the thing people forget. Since the start Ana was going to be an important character besides she was created when Pharah was. Ana was being developed before the game released. She was always going to be in the game whether in the lore or otherwise.

Here is what you have to keep in mind. Jack and Gabe cannot communicate or develop characterization without an interpreter. What does this mean? Neither open up to anyone. They are bitter, edgy, loners that are working alone due to their circumstances but neither actually want to be alone. Because of this, they need someone to open up to or they won't have any development besides angry quips like the two of them have with every other character in the game. Ana is this person.

Jack can develop a personality through her via in game dialog and comics. Gabe can reveal some. Keep in mind Chu is saving Jack and Gabe's relationship, and Gabe's entire backstory in general, for some "compelling" story so this is why Jack is so developed and Gabe isn't. Yes, this makes it looks like Gabe is the third wheel. Yes, the interactions between Ana and Jack are getting tiresome. But I believe Chu and Jeff have been hyping up Reaper's past for a reason. It's coming. I'm hoping before the end of the year.

And I do hope once we finally see the dynamic between Gabe and Jack we can actually focus on them instead of Jack and Ana almost entirely. It's a plot hole that needs to be cleared up. It's called the big 3, not the big 2.

Other than that, Ana is a marry sue because she's literally a carbon copy of The Boss. Who was a mary sue incarnate in her game too. Blizzard does little to hide the fact that 70% of the game's themes are borrowed or straight up copied from Metal Gear.

Honestly, Pharah and Mercy are just dumb characters. Over half the characters in the game can't even fight Pharah. She should just rocket jump, not have infinite flight. And Mercy shouldn't be able to fly fucking forever and regenerate her own health. They should make it so Mercy's health doesn't regenerate so that Mercy players have to actually go running for health packs and pay attention to their own positioning instead of running behind the nearest teammate and regenerating after 1 second.

Just because their projectile bullets are less reliable than hitscan doesn't mean they can't fight Pharah, they can still shoot at the sky and damage the Pharah enough to force her to back off, if not land lucky headshots to kill her. She only has 200 hp so even getting just a few bullets will force her to retreat.

So basically it's just Reaper, Sombra, Junkrat, Rein, and Symmetra. A small handful of characters with limited reach or too much spread on their guns. Hardly half the cast.

As a "Torb main" the problem is Pharah dunks on Torb's turret for free, and when it's gone Torb has nothing because all he can do is put down useless level 1 turrets or try to shoot her with his gun. I've shot down Pharahs with the gun but at that point it's a pretty uphill battle and I usually just throw armor on myself and hope to distract her enough while escaping so my team can kill her. It's definitely a bad matchup, which isn't surprising. But yeah the only complaint I have with Pharah is when she's combined with Mercy. It's such a braindead combo.

When I first started playing OW I had no interest in playing Roadhog so I didn't touch him. Then one day I got him in Mystery Heroes and he's so fucking ridiculous. The hook is probably the easiest to hit projectile in the entire game so even retards can hook 50% of the time and then you don't even have to melee or aim in order to oneshot half the characters in the game. Absolute brainless retard character.

He is actually balanced now. He's still bulky as fuck, really strong, and can get great picks, it's just he can't pick half the cast by himself anymore by hitting 2 buttons if they're in your line of sight.

Sombra works better as support, torb/sym probably should be both defense or both support, zarya has a 2 second invuln shield every 8ish seconds which you'll be shredded in between then if you play her as a standard tank
the category system is busted in general. make it assault/bruiser/tank/heal/utility so it more accurately reflects the characters usages instead of trying to shoehorn in characters in a stilted category system

Zarya can block damage. Roadhog can't. On top of that she has one of the best ults in the game, which is why people don't shit on her.

Fucking Mei is closer to a tank than Roadhog is.

I can't bealive people are asking for a torb buff. His turret already shits on flankers, and hes does decent long range lob damage, and he can eat squishes with his other fire, and having. 7th auto gun in a fight always helps.
I bet it is those players that want him to be viable In every situation on every map, which is just dumb.
