Yeah, Beasthood generation is not one of Rakuyo's strengths. I personally have a Saw Spear that I use when I want to build a lot of beasthood very quickly. BoM is better at it than the Rakuyo, but nothing beats the Saw in beasthood production (on skill builds at least).

To be fair I enjoy the untricked Rakuyo more than BoM, and I do like the gimmick of easily switching between thrusts and swipes. The moveset as a whole just doesn't feel as fluid to me. BoM feel like how a skill build should feel imo. Both are cool though

This is quite true. However getting to the later stages of the R1 combo isn't as easy as 2-3 swings with a Rakuyo. It requires an enemy that won't go down in just a few swings and doesn't hit or move away from you long enough to have the 4th+ swings. I believe the 4th swing has a 1.20 multiplier, the same as the running/dashing R1s

Finishing out the round can be the hardest part of the fight. Once someone gets to one-hit away from death the match can get tense for both people. It's common to fall into a trap of playing too greedy to finish out the round or too cautious to avoid the former from happening. Now if I had the gems to back it up I would have had a better chance. at 25/50 STR ARC I'm not sure if it's best choke all three slots with Nourishings or to do two and then one gem that shoots my ARC scaling as close to S as possible. You need Nourishings for HMS, AR will go around 700-800+ with those. Your gems mainly affect beams only, so the blade itself will be very underwhelming especially without much investment in Str/Skl. 9kv8xiyi is better. It's just following the path up the ladder immediately outside the lamp room. The boss room is slightly less convenient but the shotgun watcher should get himself stuck shooting a pillar all the same as the one pwmf will get stuck shooting the wall.
