What is the point of generating 20% more shield or increasing the duration of recharge if the ability, at default, already returns MORE than 100% of his shields? It's like Hi Rez is absolutely committed to making default cards the shittiest ones available, they're not even being subtle about it anymore.

Because a lot of the time you'll be using recharge in the middle of a fight, not afterwards. You're not really expecting to be putting many of those shield points in the bank, you're expecting them to actively mitigate incoming damage and thus prevent too much of it from touching your HP pool.

1020 shield/s for 4s is a LOT to chew through if you don't have Wrecker, and if you DO have wrecker that means you don't have cauterize for his new fatass health bar. Torvald now makes the choice of red card very difficult, and he's less likely to get absolutely btfo by the enemy team rushing one or the other.

I think the changes to Torvald are gonna prove to do him a lot of good in the long run, although they are definitely out of touch with his original niche and he'll feel less special to play.

I've found it best to just go for the silence and max HP. Pretty good for preventing escapes and whatnot.

I'm thinking it's gonna be most effective ti invest very little of your loadout in the shields. That way, the enemy team taking lots of Wrecker hardly matters - but if they don't, you get a nice little bonus esp. via Protection.

I haven't played PTS yet but I'm imagining my loadouts will primarily be Glyph of Health IV and then [appropriate CD reduction card] IV for whether I take Field Study or Direct Current.

Definitely better. Takes a little to get used to the new range, but you can now actually reach some tough spots from the point or near it, as well as apply some pressure onto the point from a moderately-safe distance. Shouldn't have to worry too much about accuracy with the huge splash and fast projectile speed.

So what the fuck is the trick to make people not shoot through reversal? People don't kill me through it maybe 1/10 times. I don't understand it at all considering every andy I face just has full protection and any bullet in it usually equals me getting fucked but I even attempt it I just die getting shot in the face.

It's a buff if you've got a competent healer but it continues to completely undermine what his character was about, defense-wise. That is, having a fuckhuge personal shield pool. And it's not like other frontliners are going to pop their shields when yours goes down before you die anyway, so draining them is just about as useless (even though rmb would now top it off completely regardless of siphoning).

His personal shield has never had a purpose outside curb stomping newbs, both in them not buying wrecker and them using their shields in front of your face. His Q is still decent and his ult is pretty much the only "shit hit the fan" button in the game that gives you free rounds assuming you don't waste it on stupid shit.
