Yeah, this kind of annoys me. I like Kaito but it annoys me about how he's portrayed as 100% in the right about a lot of things where he isn't. And even with Saihara and Himiko, who's development was kickstarted by a loved one/someone who loved them, it's made very clear that it's because of their own effort that they're changing and it's not entirely attributed to those people.

Maki could've been so much better.

I disagree with Kaito always being portrayed in the right, but more so we don't get his perspective so he comes off that way. I don't think it's that the narrative doesn't allow Kaito to be wrong. I think it's just that by the time chapter 5 rolls around, there's nobody left who it'd be in-character for them to call him out.

Saihara is too close to the source to see the problem, let alone assertive enough to call out the guy who's been helping him the entire time.

Tsumugi is probably enjoying the tropeyness of it, but even in character would be too timid to say anything.

It's not enough of Himiko's business for her to say anything and she might not know the situation well enough to comment.
