For me gameplay was a interesting twist to the turn based formula but was too easy to break AKA scout defense and rushing to the flag.
Story was crap as expected of the typical rpg and hardly any characters got developed besides the main 5.
3 fixed it so much with a better story (still crap but better at least), every character having their own side mission to flesh them out and gameplay that challenges you by utilizing everyone.

Oh yeah forgot to mention that, the gameplay concept itself was great. I actually enjoyed the first few missions because of that, but that's before I found out how easy is it to break the game.

On that note though, I seriously don't think the gameplay in Revolution looks bad on its own. It wasn't that bad in the demo I played at least, but who knows how it actually is (and it's also kinda difficult to trust people's testimony on this with how biased people are against the change).

Story is really my main complain about it, it was just... bad. Probably just because my standards for story is different than most, but I really couldn't get any enjoyment out of the story.

Playing the Revolution demo back when they released the first demo was a slap in the face.
After they "fixed" it with a new demo I still wasn't satisfied.
With the $40 price point on PS4 I don't know if they don't think it will sell because of the controversy or or they don't have the confidence it will score well in order for people to pick it up since reviews influence people to buy it or not.

Played the original Disgaea on DS. As much as I enjoy SRPGs, I never did get all that far in it. Do I wager plenty and buy 1 and 2 on the Vita digitally, and 3/4/D2 physically, or do I buy the PS3 collection of 3/4/D2, and maybe the first two games on PS2? Just remember to register your Personas so you will always be able to get them back if you fuck up or want to experiment. Dunno what to say about the rundown, just keep fusing stronger personas and you'll be fine throughout the game. Since you can transfer skills from personas used during fusion to the fused persona, you'll have a lot of weird tricks available eventually, e.g. a persona that is immune to all kinds of attacks or whatever. Don't worry too much about the bonuses you get depending on what weekday it is, more often than not they're shit.

I see, this is the first gacha game I've ever played so I don't know what's the standard is like.

My apologies that I forgot 2 details which seem to be the dominating factors: downtime and max credits per day.

1) 1 AP takes 5 minutes to recharge and 1 grind = 20+ AP = 100+ minutes. So in practice there is a bit of down time.

2) More importantly, each day = about 10+ quests or so = about 40 credits per day (so ~10 days to get to 380 credits).

I'm actually not sure if all of them refreshes aside from 4 of those. I think they do, though.

Hence the bigger problem is since the events only last like 1~2 weeks you might not make it if you don't stock credits in advance.

It feels a little pressurizing to need to participate in the event immediately, though I guess having new things is fun.

One more after this and it's quite enough Drive Girls for now.

Yeah I noticed. Then I just try to alternate with few square attacks and circle dash to get some attacks through. And they seem to always avoid x-injection too, don't really like commanders special move too much. At least with Regalith the most powerful part of her attack follows the enemy, it's pretty useful if the enemy happens to be nearby. Well, at least commander is a nice car.

Anything on the horizon as far as rhythm games go? Quite enjoyed Superbeat Xonic despite some rather questionable tunes. Something along that degree of difficulty also? Heard the PDf stuff was rather easy in comparison.

Damn that Vita port of Boy and His Blob is a disappointment. They downscaled the sprites horribly, and it runs on a slower framerate than the Wii original. And the controls are wonky. Such a low-effort porting job it makes me mad. It may run better on tabletop consoles, but on Vita, this is so not worth it.
