Mounts are account bound. Training done on mounts, such as speed and stamina, are character bound.

Respecs are done in main cities, so Stormhaven for Daggerfall Covenant, Elden Root for the Aldmeri Dominion, and the STD Clinic for Ebonheart Pact.

To be a beamplar, you won't have access to jesus beam for a while. Get wall of elements from the destruction staff line, this will be your main damage ability. Morphs it to elemental blockade for a larger area. Eventually you'll get access to spear shards, another ground based aoe, which will make your life easier, so drop both aoes together. You have access to puncturing strikes, morph it to sweep, this will let you attack enemies in front of you (that are all standing in wall of elements, right?) and let you do damage and heal yourself at the same time.

While leveling, keep a skill from each line that you want to level on your bar so that the skill lines level. When you hit 15, you get access to a second bar, so you can put skills and abilities from skill lines on that bar, and switch to that bar when turning in quests for another xp boost to those skill and skill lines.

In the morrowind patch, the leveling curve got adjusted, so you can low levels faster, and higher levels take a bit longer. Its still the same amount of XP to get to 50 as it was before, but you should be getting levels and skill points faster for a while. I'd recommend going around and doing delves for xp and skyshards, follow the faction quest (each zone has 3 or more skill points tied to their quest, and their quests give a fuck ton of xp) and zone quest lines also have skill points and tons of xp.

If you want, you can use a resto staff on the back bar with the aoe resto heal to help in the low levels, or double bar destro staves. When you look at the passives for the different types of destro staves, fire staves give more single target damage, lightning for more aoe, and ice taunt (don't use ice). I'de use a lightning staff, since you'll have weak aoe for a bit, you can heavy attack and hit enemies that are clustered together (which should be standing in your aoe) to do damage and restore magicka.

Of course all that provided advice is now gone forever.

Maybe I'm crazy but my biggest complaint is that far too much content is too easy.

for example, soloing nWGT last boss feels like appropriate difficulty level, not too hard but fun. if you're a complete gear scrub and have just whatever equipped that you've picked up off the ground, then most public dungeons are just barely difficult enough to keep your interest

everything else is typically too easy. in particular 99% of group content is brain-melting easy, and most veteran group dungeons are just waiting on the DPS. Most Tanks aren't really needed for this reason, even.

All world mobs are a joke, 90% of world bosses can be soloed- and somehow, in some weird way, they made things like vMA TOO HARD that it's just an all-around unpleasant experience of having unavoidable 40k hp drop in 2 seconds of being locked into a bugged heavy attack animation

Both are fun and have a lot of content. Eso's quests are fully voice acted though, including all the random sidequests, FF14 only has voicework for the main quests. Also gearing is a lot more interesting on here and doesn't go out of date after a month or two(unless something randomly gets nerfed). FF14's community is a bit more social, albeit filled with weebish xD types.

I play both, if I had to play only one though, I'd stick with eso.

I go in with 5 julianos (heavy chest for stats), willpower jewelry (magicka on rings, healthy on neck), illambris (heavy head and light shoulder), lightning front staff fire back staff. Around 19.5k health, 32k magicka with bound armor and maybe 10 points in health, with power surge 2.8k - 2.9k spell power. Illambris procs both lightning and fire nearly on cooldown, with lightning form I have nearly 16k physical and magicka resists. It's worked well for me.

aesthetic gets nice and nicer if you tweak your settings.ini file. many quality pets can be acquired without spending $.

Snipe is too slow of a spammable for PvE, but it has a place in PvP for attacking from stealth. Scatter shot is shit, arroy spray can be useful for clearing groups of trash mobs with endless hail, but its usually easier to put down endless hail then go in with their steel tornado from dual wield or reverse slash from twohander.

Well, here is a nice tip. Skill lines that are lower level than your character level will level up much faster until they catch up to you. So, if you go and equip all medium armor and just do missions, you'll gain medium armor levels crazy fast. You might want to gain some of the passives before you go doing stuff like the harder dungeons, but for general questing and the easier normal dungeons (the ones with a 1), you'll be more than fine.

You'll be going for weapon damage and crit, not spell damage. As a stamina templar (also applies to stamina sorc and stamina DK), you might still use some magicka skills, but those will be for utility, not damage. For example, sun shield and its morphs if you need a damage shield.

You'll want weapon damage, and some weapon crit. Most stamina builds will use the thief mundus stone for more crit with divines trait on the gear to amplify the crit that it gives.

Not really. Wear medium in your large slots (chest, legs, head), and wear two pieces of light in small slots (shoulders, waist, hands, or feet). You'll hit 50 in medium before you hit 50 in light armor, but if you want to max it out you should be in the upper 30's or low 40's in light armor by that point.

If you still need to max out fighters guild, you can equip the armor then go grind out dolmens. Since all the spawns are daedra, if you join the dolmen farm group you'll max out fighters guild in no time. Go to either Auridon or Alik'r (most active dolmen farm zones, the dolmens are close to the wayshrines) and just follow the group, and try to tag everything that you can. Also a good way to finish leveling your class and weapon skill lines.

Ah, fastest way is to deconstruct gear, especially the CP 160 intricate gear. Many guild vendors have them for sale. We get them as rewards for the max level daily crafting writs, so there are a surplus of them. Don't spend more than 150 gold on them though.

The Morrowind expansion isn't that much from what my friends tell me, and Tamriel Unlimited is required to play it since it's the base game. By the time you get past the Tamriel unlimited stuff, you'll be invested enough to know whether you want to go on to Morrowind or even get ESO+. I personally got back into the game a month ago after only having Tamriel unlimited and chose to get ESO+ instead since it gives me all the DLC and the crafting bag that comes in SUPER handy.

The more experienced players may have better input on the Morrowind expansion though, but if you want both you can still get it off G2A as well for cheaper than it is on Steam's sale.

I just got this game, and doing non-cp cryodil as a warden. I have Wormcult set with 2 pcs prayer with healing staff. I have cheapo enchantments of health. Shit ton of quests, if you don't skip dialogue you can easily spend 100s of hours just questing. Nearly 30 dungeons (4 man content), 5 trials (12 man content) and 1 solo arena.

Questing and most dungeons are easy. There's a few dungeons where you will have trouble if the group you're running with has no idea what to do such as the DLC dungeons and even City of Ash II. Vet trials and the solo arena is challenging but if you constantly keep at those, you can pass them.

In one of the trials, you can exit the map and run all the way to where the final boss is, start attacking him (he can't attack you because you're out of bounds) and then get best in slot end game loot. You'll most likely get a 3 day ban if you get caught doing this.

By this I mean once you hit gear cap and fully outfit yourself there seems to be no reason to look forward to more trials. You are right, it's a veritable plateau you hit where you don't really need new gear so the question becomes why are you still playing. It's up to you to find reasons at that point whether its leveling more/trying an alt/trying a new build/PvP/wanting to run PvE just for the sake of helping friends etc.

Since ESO doesn't clean the slate like WoW/FFXIV with every patch you can hit your gear cap and then never feel the need for more gear.

Both are fun in different ways. Dunmer magdk lays down tons of fire aoes, then applies two more fire dots (one of which makes enemies take even more fire damage), and has their own pet ball of flame that circles around them and hits absurdly hard 9and crits probably a lot more than intended) for massive damage. Hardest magicka sustain out of the magicka classes, but it also has a ton of utility like self healing on hitting with claws again, shields for the group, a self heal that gives a health regen buff, and all of the ultimates are great and useful. Armor makes you unkillable for 10 seconds, I've used it to revive teammates without fear of death, single handedly saving vet runs, standard decreases your damage taken and increase your damage output making it one of the most powerful ults in the game, and even leap can be useful with the morph that gives you a damage shield, as well as doing a good amount of damage.

Stamina DPS is also fun, but for different reasons. You lay down your bow aoe and dot, then go into melee, putting your poison DoTs on enemies (one of which is a cone attack that makes them take even more damage), and you just bleed and poison them dry. Dual wield has the fastest heavy attacks, so weaving heavies into your rotation is fairly easy, making sustain not bad at all. You can generate some really high DPS (with the same added utility and defense that the magicka DK has), but the rotation is a bit more unforgiving.

I think I want to go templar, possibly argonian because the idea of a holy lizard seems fun.

I'd like to heal eventually, how should I level?

Level magicka. It really doesn't matter where exactly you put your skill points as long as you get some shit to help you level up/heal for later on. This game works on the same system as other ES games where you can basically get every skill by leveling up enough and searching for unlockables. Only thing you actually have to decide that's final is your class and race.

Basically, just play like you would any other Elder Scrolls game, except with other people.

Put wall of elements on your front bar (from the destruction staff tree), morphs it to blockade of elements (large area, more enemies can fit inside). This will be your main damage for bosses and groups. Equip one of each of your class skills, be sure to use puncturing swipes, morph it into puncturing sweep (it will now heal you for a % of the damage you do per hit, and it hits all enemies in front of you). Also put one resto staff skill on your bar (you won't be able to use it, but having it on your bar will gain XP for the resto staff tree, so you won't be starting from resto staff 4 or some shit at level 40 when you wan to try healing).

Use a lightning staff, the passive for lightning heavy is that the splash damage hurts enemies near your target. Lay down your wall/blockade of elements, keep the enemies in it, lightning staff heavy attack groups, use sweep to heal yourself if you start to take a bit too much damage.

That's basically it. When you hit level 15 you can equip a second weapon with a second skill bar, so you can either equip a resto staff on your back bar to heal or double destro staff for more damage. A popular course is to put skills on your back bar that you want to level, then switch to your back bar before you turn in a quest. The skills/skill lines will get a big jump in XP from the quest, and you can use your main bar for your damage skills to make questing easier.

The Gold edition is what you want if you definitely don't plan on paying for the optional subscription (ESO Plus), one of the perks of the subscription is access to all "DLC" (not Morrowind which is a "Chapter") while subscribed.

The only thing you're missing from normal and Gold edition is two DLC dungeons (Shadows of the Hist) and the latest expansion, Morrowind. There's a Morrowind edition that comes with the base game and Morrowind, but not the other DLC. Gold edition has much more content, but if you have a particular interest in Vvardenfell and TES III maybe it might be worth more to you.

The DLC included in Gold edition is
- Imperial City (PvP in the city/sewers and fighting Daedric invadors)
- Orsinium (the Wrothgar region and rebuilding the Orc city of Orsinium)
- Thieves Guild (Hew's Bane and heists all over Tamriel)
- Dark Brotherhood (Cyrodiil's Gold Coast and murdering people all over Tamriel)

Ok, this question has probably been asked to death but is ESO worth it?
I played during the beta and hated it so that really turned me off to the whole thing for a while, but now I think I should give it another chance.
I still hear a lot of bad things about it though, like how it butchers the lore, the combats still bad, the quests are dull even for MMO standards and so on. Is any of this true?
