I threw this together for my little cousin and his friends in about an hour

I want to like PrimalCore core. I really do. I want to expanded the flint tools and fire and ash problems of early game.

But there is so much undocumented content that changes the game. The wiki's are empty, any help will be lost in forums threads that web crawlers cannot find.

The mod has partial support for JEI, so much important content not documented. How do you get bark for leather working? How do fish traps work? How do you get the different tiers of strings? Where are all the plants? etc etc.

I've had it with bean farms.
No matter how hard I try, I can't make a space efficient design without the golems fucking everything up. Why do harvest golems have to be so retarded?

The "just play creative mode" comment always struck me as a low brow jab because the person using it had no ground to stand on.
Even if you play Creative or spawn things in occasionally, you still need to use the blocks effectively to make something. Having access to everything doesn't give you skill in setting up an automatic farm or a good looking house.
Plus death is not an option in creative mode (not in any serious context). There's nothing that negates every form of damage in survival.
Massive resource acquisition is the end result of this and many other games. Even in vanilla Minecraft, there comes a point where you have stacks of diamonds, chests of ores and warehouses of stone & wood. The "creative mode" statement is not a valid one and shows, to me, proof of the user's lack of creativity. It's definitely the trademark of a trolling attitude.

The Eastern spawnwarp ends you up in the commonlands, a place for the players to settle (and wreck the landscape without problem) before finding or founding their own kingdom. Hence some of the area is wrekt, but I think even the noobs that played for a few days and never played again left some fairly decent abodes.

Hi /mcg/ I'm attempting to use a texture pack for a certain version of minecraft but am encountering issues with it. Water and lava both show up as missing textures, both still and flowing. I discovered the pack creator added the .pngs for water still/flow and lava still/flow, but neglected to add the mcmeta files.

I created my own mcmeta files after some research, inputting the following code for all 4:

The same missing textures image comes up; nothing was fixed.

I have tried using different versions of the texture pack, none of which will even change the base menu when selected.

The mcmeta file is named correctly and does not have the .txt extension that winodws likes to keep on it.

I was not sure why someone suggested the number 20, so that might be the issue. Not sure though.

Lastly, before anyone tells me to just not use the pack, I'd both really like to use it as it's my favorite, and I'd like to figure this out. So, can anyone help?

the time of 1.7.10 is over. 1.10.2 is over. Every big mod is already on 1.11, except the ones that won't ever update (Thaumcraft and Witchery, chief among them). New mods like Actually additions, Embers, and Roots can't be found on 1.7.10, and in at least two cases are no longer updated even on 1.10. McJty's mods are significantly better (and more numerous) on 1.10+. Blood Magic is better in modern versions. Chisel and bits is not on 1.7.10. Immersive Engineering is so much better in its newest incarnation.
I could go on like this for a while. The point is that we have now reached the time where updating to the most recent version provides the best experience, in terms of vanilla improvements and quality mods. I say this all as a very recent convert from 1.7.10. 1.11 is better.

i recently played an FTB beyond server with some friends (mostly vanilla newbies) to try and get them into mods and past the "what do i do" stage
one of them survived and we now kinda hit the spot at endgame where there's not much to do anymore, besides big building projects etc.

now we're thinking of playing a HQM pack (avoided those initially because they're even worse for newbies)
the last HQM i played was blastoff, long ago
absolutely loved it but the fucking bugs made it near unbearable later, still amazing
i also briefly checked out regrowth but didnt play it really
most of the stuff i see is for older minecraft versions still, does that mean they're all dead?
and which HQM packs can you recommend? mainly looking for something that totally changes how the world works, like blastoff or regrowth, and disables a lot of the "i use this mod every single game" stuff like draconic or ender io etc.

Regrowth is botania/agricraft and TC stuff IIRC.
Blightfall is probably the best well done one, not that I've played it, yet, entire world is covered by TC taint, you have to live out a life in a containment dome and shit until you've progressed enough to deal with taint.

Gregtech new horizons is a gregtech centered modpack with shitload of mods given the greg treatment, I.E. complicatedness for the sake of being complicated.

More technical guess, texture update commands from cpu to gpu is no cache'ing. Every animated texture is being reloaded in the gpus on the stutter frames or something.

Also I'm not exactly a Vanillafag, this was just one vanilla server I ran for a while. I'm the modded toxic jungle afficianado of late.

I find tech is impossible emulate via command blocks, at least more work than its worth. Fantasy and magic however are fairly easy with command blocks. If someone is interested I can detail how to run a Deity system with prayers, blessings and followers with just vanilla commands.

The blue line traversing the entire ocean is a totally glass encased undersea rail (creative built, otherwise it would take years).

Traditionally we had issues with it going so fast and straight that chunks don't load to keep up with the user. Caused some lag back in 1.8

Somewhere near the northern exit of the undersea rail (along the coast, its not actually close at all, but for time sake) is this ancient monastery to the mysterious wind god.

In the server reboot it contained a parkour course inside for the blessing of the wind god with some other puzzles as well.

It's "vanilla" Forestry, I believe. Back when it was created it was fine for it to exist because there weren't really many more ways to make bronze (other than mixing copper/tin dust from IC2) and Forestry is pretty heavy on bronze, but nowadays there are a gorillion alloy smelters and such so there's not a single excuse to not turn it off.
But of course, tweaking configs is too difficult for most pack makers.

Trying to change oregen for a pack I'm building to get some large, uncommon veins, similar to what I've seen many anons post about over the years
This is my first time using CofhCore though, I set the common config to replace vanilla oregen, and not much changes. The height the specific ores spawn in seem to change, but the size and shape remain the exact same
I thought it was me being bad at JSON coding, and copied multiple examples I've found from different sources and yet my oregen looks nothing like the pictures provided, its still the exact same as when I tried to do it myself

Does this sound like a familiar problem to someone who's used Cofhcore before?
I'm about to just say fuck it, grit my teeth, and use the vanilla oregen

unfortunately Cofh, for whatever reason absolutely refuses to gen anything in the worlds I make

for each instance, if you hit edit instance on the right, then go to loader mods on the left, you'll be able to go directly to each versions mod folder by hitting the view folder button on the bottom right, then you can just put the .jars directly in that folder
Basically, it goes /MultiMC/Instances/{instance name}/minecraft/mods if you are navigating there in the explorer
put the 1.10 mods in the 1.10 instance you made and then go to the 1.11 instance and put the 1.11 mods in that folder

Reading a bit on poison dart frogs, turns out that their toxicity is due to their diet. Captive frogs have lessened toxicity unless they are fed things with high alkaloids. Usually they get them from the bugs that live in their biome.

So you could have frogs that live in the jungle biome be extra poisonous, or if you want to breed them for their toxin you could look for ants/bugs in jungle dirt and feed it to the frogs?

Also a bit of trivia: the poison used in blowgun darts of the Amazonian tribes are mostly made from Curare, a plant, and only 4 species of poison dart frogs are used for poison in darts.

I simply dont get whats the point to make the same concept thats already been popularized by Botania, Embers, this new mod, and the chalk one all do the same thing of flying magical transport but with different themes. Even techmods that as well follow a similar pattern have something that makes them different from the other ones like IC2´s UU matter, IE´s wires, themes and machines or Mek 5x ore processing. While this mods are literally the same, but reddit also got plagued by a lot of Thermal Expansion copies a while ago

i dev as a hobby. 1.7 is fun and easily knocks the socks off of 1.10 or 1.11 as a player, but as a developer i dont have time to maintain for both, and going 1.7-exclusive is a good way to have zero issue reporting and user feedback.

CC (or Biome Tweaker) is only a dependency if you have BoP or Highlands, unless they managed to fuck the mod up even harder in the memeversions.
And I think the main problem is that CC takes a lot of time to tweak to your tastes. The default config has way too many oceans, and toggling separate landmasses off as recommended doesn't help all that much so you'll most likely still need to tinker a lot with the land settings if you want something close to RTG's defaults.

Could someone help me with an IT issue? Minecraft wants me to update intel drivers. I have windows 10 and an old computer. Though it was really just a kitchen sink modpack with brutal zombie awareness AI (where all mobs would form parties), the weather mod, and Reika's Meteorcraft.
