Seriously though, once you reach optimal gems the damage output is very comparable to phys. My bolt Saw Spear is 630~ AR, it's actually higher than a 25/50 build. There's a reason people whine about bolt weapons in PvP.

That's probably okay, but I feel like BoM would be pretty hard to use against him (not that I've tried). There's no harm in coming back a little later anyway when you've got more SKL and a weapon that's slightly more upgraded.

Don't just rely on the boop the nose strat, it's safe but slow when you're trying to farm him. You can hit his nose quite a bit safely, but a lot of the same attacks allow you to dash in and hit his other limbs, and you can stagger him repeatedly if you keep track of which limbs have already been broken.

I dunno what your guys chalice was like but this is why I usually run chalices alongside the host when spelunking. Even if the host has to wait for you to get to the next layer it's often almost as quick as waiting for SRRC anyway, and you then get summoned quicker subsequent times if you or the host dies.

Sometimes the bosses are ass though and it's easier to just SRRC in, but I usually try to avoid it if possible.
