Never played a Metroid game. If I play prime 1-3 will I be ready for Prime 4 or do I need to play some of the 2D games as well to understand all the lore?

So whats everyone playing? I'm thinking about picking up Ever Oasis tomorrow.

They're all developed by Monolift Soft but have been published by different companies over the years. Square published Xenogears, Bamco published Xenosaga and Nintendo publishes Xenoblade.

There's no actually relation between the games, besides some recurring themes such as mechas (pic related), female androids, some kinda fight against a gods, etc etc.

So if we assume Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is coming out December 31st (best case that isn't a delay), that gives them 1 year and 8 months between it and the release of Xenoblade Chronicles X. Greetings. I have not owned a Nintendo console since the N64 days and have never played a Zelda game. Apparently the Switch will not have backwards compatibility (fortunently it's not region locked), and while I want to play BOTW more than any game in the world, I can't justify a $300 purchase for one game.

Are there plans for releasing old games such as Ocarina of time, Majora's mask, etc for the Switch? I would also love to finally play the Xenoblade series but was hoping if at least the WiiU version is playable on Switch. Aside from Mario Odyssey, the system looks to have a weak lineup. Thank you for any help.

Well Nintendo Badge Arcade is finally over in the UK.
When you start it up, you actually get the end credits and it's quite lengthy.

The Arcade Bunny still doesn't give you an actual name though, wish they did.
It's also two free plays every day from now on, so that's nice.

This might not be the right place to ask this but I couldn't find a better one.

Does the Gamecube have a reputation for scratching discs? I went to play some games, ones I got fairly recently in good condition even, but I've been getting progressively more disc errors. My copy of Echoes in particular is flat out unplayable on both my Gamecube and my Wii now, and when I went to examine the disc I saw that all my recently played games have tiny scratches fucking everywhere that I don't recall seeing before.

I feel terrible scrapping it but if its a probable cause I don't want to risk any of my more expensive games getting demolished.

It's more broken down into characters vs enemies
So one character will be advantageous against specific enemy types and you choose your party based on the enemies in the area that you go to.
It also has classes, like healers passively heal over time, collectors boost item finds, wizards boost magic ability, warriors boost attack power and guards boost defence
All classes can be advantageous to anyone and use any weapon, its just character specific.

There's also sub skills that you need to progress and complete puzzles which are specific to characters as well, such as mining, rock breaking, pellet rolling etc. So the party comes down to specific needs at the time.

Combat is x for heavy and a for light and some characters have combos, real simple

The smart thing to do would be to call it "Metroid Prime: [Subtitle]" without a number so that it's easily identified as being standalone yet still a Prime-style game.
