Right now penetration is just a way to get 100% power on a card since you can't have a card that only has one stat forcing you to have at least one cp of non attack stat. So a card with damage and pen = 100% usage of cp towards attack. I think it only really scales well if armor is stacked and makes more of a difference now since armors been raised but you need to fug with the calculator to double check since I don't play this pleb game anymore lel.

I don't know how you can possibly believe this: KDA may not mean everything, but it does show you how well a player understands positioning, matchups, etc. The Morigesh on that team was a fucking retard that never watched the map or payed attention to who was rotatating from lanes. I could see them getting collapsed on 10 seconds before it happened and pinged retreat until the game silenced me, and they didn't even look around them, they just kept pushing into the enemy t2 alone while two of our team were dead. I'm a better player than they will ever be if that's how they operate with 700 games under their belt on Monolith alone (they've been active since Early Access and never once broke Gold).

I just had the opposite game. We were trading tower for tower, inhib for inhib, and contesting Orb constantly, everyone was at 60 cp for like 15 minutes. we get something where you'd take a ward with extra attack speed/power, a card with an active that slows on your first 3 basic hits, a card that gives you extra cxp if you get 5 last hits in a row and a card that grants you a movement speed buff for 2 seconds.
you're always going to be building power on your carry but this would let you have more options as you build that power instead of just minmaxing raw stats since all but maybe 5 active cards in the game are worthless unless you're a support

I just fear that this will also stagnate if they make the passives/actives too general. Instead of ADCs building early game damage and attack speed to trade in for more of each and crits, we'll build early game lane dominance, mid-game kill confirm, and late game teamfight with the same basic cards.

Big as hell and beautiful. Especially the jungle was god tier. Also completely symmetrical except for the jungle buffs, so you picked your lane depending on counters and buffs, not your role. There were a few fun mechanics which were scrapped on Monolith, like dunking, harvesters and damage type split. Made the gameplay more varied and interesting. Monolith's gameplay is objectively probably better, but the old map had a great mysterious and eerie atmosphere and just this "something" that Monolith lacks. It had a soul.

I personally really liked Smite when I tried it, although I definitely prefer Paragon. The thing about Smite is, that it's been around for much longer and I feel it has much more depth by now. Unfortunately it also suffers from the same issue isometric mobas have, albeit less, that is the fact that fights look like a complete clusterfuck of different effects and colourful lights. Paragon is much more clean and aesthetic and I really like that about it.
Another thing is, I fucking suck at Smite, even though the basic principles are theoretically similar. Much. Agora was much bigger, but also much slower. It took a good few minutes to get from one end of the map to another. On the other hand abilities had much bigger range(but also longer cooldown). For example Bellica's bomb had an are of effect almost the size of a tower platform, while her drone had an almost one minute long cooldown.

Roles were pretty much the same, but the lanes were identical to each other - no offlane and safelane. Therefore team composition was more open and you picked lanes based on counters, not roles

As for card system, it fundamentally stayed the same, but characters were split between two different damage types, physical and energy(now psychical are basics and energy are abilities, back then all damage was either one type or other depending on your character). Therefore there wasn't such thing as just "power", but separate dmg cards for different characters, that's why so many of them are almost identical now. Likewise you also had to build armour type depending on enemy team damage types.

Instead of Amber Link, there were 7 harvesters scattered across the map, which could be captured for your team. While captured, they were slowly gathering cp which could be collected for your entire team by standing on their platforms. They had a maximum capacity, so they had to be emptied regularly or any additional amount was lost. There were also items known as keys, which made capturing them quicker, they have now been replaced by scythes and siphons.

One of the coolest features of Agora was dunking: when you killed the Prime Guardian your team didn't gain bonuses immediately. Instead whoever struck the last blow received an item called Orb Prime. It then had to be carried to one of two altars located on the opposite part of the map, one of them gave you powerful offensive bonus, while the other respawned all the inhibitors that you have lost, allowing a comeback from even shittiest situations. However, the orb carrier was visible on the map for the entire enemy team, which could kill him, reclaim the orb and carry it to the altar to gain a buff or inhib respawn themselves.

Fell for the oldest trick in the book as an offlaner, lads: I pushed up when their support was missing at the start of the match and got double-stuffed two minutes in. It was my only death in the match though, and I repaid the carry before the game was over.
