Not many people call them "fair", its just a way to add variety to the gameplay.

I know people will give shit for bringing up TF2, but they're both cartoony shooters with wild elements. You can stun with sandman, knock people around with rockets, bombs, airblast and force-a-natures, taunt kill, explosive jumps, bleed, burn, throwing substance which can minicrit or heal on hits, slowing targets down to a crawl and on and so forth. Yeah some of OW's are more annoying, but these aren't a new thing unless OW is one of your first games, its just what keeps it from being barebones in what you can do like CoD:GO.

Is Orisa any good?

I've played her for an hour or two now and I get the feeling she's not quite on par with the rest of the tank roster.

I don't follow any esports or play comp so I have no clue. Biggest thing for me is that her entire body feels lika a critbox. Tanks like Hog and Winston are baseball gloves for stray shots, but Orisa feels like she's on another level.

Wow someone with actual points and logic. Honestly TF2 could go without knockback and super AOE and afterburn. But somehow all of that stuff feels incredibly more forgiving than overwatch honestly. All of those abilities feels like a new variety in overwatch but more of a pain in the ass to deal with rather than having fun but playing against them. Maybe it's because of overwatch not being a game where you can counter your counters with incredible ease and everyone is a little more focused with only 12 players in a match but somethings about Overwatch after 650+ levels just feel completely incorrect to have in this type of game.

Here is my theory about why personal performance based mmr is still used:
Your chance of winning or losing is so dependant on your teammates (with 5 other people) that it would take tons of matches to accurately give everyone a fair rating with only a win/loss based mmr system. My image of this is that for the first few games you play, your rank would wildly fluctuate, then go towards the average, then only after 100s of games settle at a fair ranking

Orisa is good for helping hold choke points with Bastion or Torb, without the heavy firepower protecting her shield it will pop way too fast when compared to Rein's shield
You can also use her to hold capture point with Torb or Payload, but capture points with multiple enterances will get her butt ravaged if your Bastion is sleeping
As Orisa your job is to keep the Torb turret or Bastion alive, always use her shield when it is under 500 hp to get the CD back up faster, spam your right mouse to get them out of cover and keep a steady spray of bullets to help Turrets eat the enemy Rein shield, save your shift for when their Genji, Tracer, Winston or any other flanker tries to get cocky, they shouldn't be focusing you but with Winston it's aoe so you'll eat some of it anyway
She is good pick but only if she has Bastion / Torb with her, add a Mercy or Zen to that mix and you have a killer squad to tear through their front line
On attack she is pathetic, her shield is immobile and too weak to survive bunkered down enemies direct fire, as long as your Bastion/Torb turret is alive you and your shield will live, some might argue Rein does her job better but Rein needs to keep his shield off for a bit when it gets low to regen it, Orisa can just drop a new one every now and then

Not it isn't. You asked how people have 1000 hours in QP. It's because most of it is from a year ago up until recently when it wasn't as awful.

Horizon has to be most attacker friendly map so far. Attackers spawn a mere 20 seconds from the first point where defenders spawn 30 seconds from the point. Id recommend running a "tower defense" comp and turn the first point into a deathtrap. In my opinion symmetra might be a must pick because that walk back from spawn is absolutely criminal because there is no way of saving the point if your team gets wiped at any time during the first point.

I think atleast in KOTH, yes. Your team most likely isn't going to get back but you get those extra % and deny them the same.
